Receiving my oticon intent 2, advice and thoughts?

Good afternoon to all,

I am super excited to be getting my new Oticon intent 2’s soon, at Kaiser in MD. After discussing both the Phonak and oticon I will try the intent and see how it performs. I do have a few questions and I’d appreciate any thoughts you all would have. First, do you consistantly get a full days use out of them even with streaming? Has anyone used and is it worth purchasing an adapter for use on say my PC or TV or should I get the tv connector? What is the Oticon 360 sound feature and how exactly does it work, is it different then my widex moment 440’s? Is there a option available in case I want to go that rout? Any input you all have is appreciated. I will post my findings when my aids arrive. Thanks and God bless.

I use the Phillips 9050 so I’ll let an Oticon used answer your Oticon questions.

I use . I have a Avantree Oasis connected to my TV. I don’t watch TV much, but I did find it bit jarring to hear pencils being used and sounds that I never would have heard without the transmitter.

I also have a Homespot BA 210 that I use to connect to the local ballroom cuer’s Hilton amp/mixer for Auracast. One of the local square dance callers has his own Homesport BA 210 transmitter and uses it when he calls for one of the local square dance clubs.

Anyhow, buy a transmitter on Amazon. If you don’t like it, return it for a refund.

I’ve had a set of Oticon Intent aids since last summer. The key thing about these for me was going back to the audiologist, explaining what I like and don’t like, and having them tune the aids.

Right now I’m at my target, and they’re working really well. I’ve turned off the buttons (I never knew what they were doing l, and sometimes I’d press them accidently, so I just use the app if I need to adjust something). I’ve also lowered the streaming volume to get a comfortable listening level.

I replaced a pair of Oticon More aids, and I mentioned to the audiologist that wind noise was a problem with the Mores. I don’t know if the Intents are just better out of the box, or the audiologist adjusted them, but wind noise is basically a non-issue with the Intents.

My Intents are paired to a Pixel 9, and I can control a lot of the aids’ functionality from Android without using the companion app, but the app provides more bells and whistles. I’ve used with the Intents, as described in AuraCast Success on Oticon Intent 1 and Pixel 9 & 10.

The battery life seems good. I’ve been wearing the aids for about 6 hours today, and I’m still at 82% battery, but I don’t stream that much.

The adapter has a 3.5mm jack and a TosLink jack. The Oticon TV adapter I believe is like the Phillips TV adapter and comes with RCA jacks and a TosLink jack.

My TV is old with RCA jacks. So I’m using a RCA to 3.5mm cable with my two Auracast transmitters.

Yes, I’ve never run out of battery with my Intents 1. I’ve been wearing them for about two years now. Last week, I did a lot of streaming with , and at the end of a very long day, I still had about 20% battery left.

I do recommend an Auracast dongle. I’m currently using the FlooGoo FMA121, and it works very well with my Intents. I’m able to connect my to my Windows PC and attend meetings on MS Teams and Zoom with no issues—it’s really neat. It also works with my TV, though depending on the model, you may need an optical (digital) to analog converter to make it work.

I think you may be referring to “BrainHearing” technology. If so, this is essentially Oticon’s way of saying that all the digital processing in the hearing aid is designed to feel as natural as possible—as if there were no processing at all. It’s somewhat the opposite of what you get with the Phonak Sphere program, where there is heavy noise reduction. This Oticon approach works well for some people, but not for everyone. It can feel overwhelming if you’re not used to it.

Oticon battery life is outstanding. I have Intent 1s, stream a little but take all my calls through them. No knowledge of this stuff as I watch very little TV and can survive with the soundbar on the basement tv or just speakers on an upstairs one in my music/office area. Very happy with Oticon, though I may look at these “Sphere” things for the next set just to try something different.

If you are asking about the wireless connection, then they are not the same. The TV connector I believe will only connect with your hearing aids. The transmitter can connect to any Auracast receiver, including some ear buds, some headphones, some speakers, and many brands of hearing aids.

Since i do a lot of zoom meetings and what not for work i will get the usb receiver and go from there. How would you say that Oticon is with directionality? I sometimes find with my Widex moments I cannot tell where sounds are coming from in complex settings.

Thanks for the info. I assume it’s just a plug and play? Once it’s in do I just go to the area of the oticon app?
