Researching next hearing aids

Looking for some feedback. I have been wearing for about 10 years, always using Phonak. My first set was rechargeable, my second disposable battery. Weighing the positives and negatives of each, disposable best fits my needs.

I’m due for a new set this year. Phonak seems to be getting away from disposable battery aids. Currently researching Oticon, Widex, and Resound. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I like to wear my spare aids once every week or two for a day. Switching from one Phonak aid to another hasn’t really been a problem. How much of a struggle will it be switching from one brand to another for a day every so often?

I have gone from Oticon to Phonak without any issues. I was like you about disposable batteries and rechargeable aids. I wore nothing but disposable battery aids for about 14 years and for the last 7 years rechargeable aids. I have to say there isn’t anyway that I would go back to disposable battery aids. Battery life hasn’t been an issue for me. I charge my aids while I sleep. I haven’t ever ran out of battery life. I guess if I somehow got could without my charger on a trip or went for more than 5 days without being able to recharge my charger for my aids I might be in trouble. But if I am traveling, I have both sets of aids and both chargers for my aids. Yes I have two sets of aids with 2 battery pack chargers for my aids. Why because I was raised to be prepared. I never travel without battery packs to recharge my devices incase of no electricity. I love dry camping and we love traveling with our travel trailer.
Disposable battery aids can be great. But I have found that disposable battery aids are more likely to have moisture failures than rechargeable aids.

Appreciate the feedback. Oticon is high on my list. Hoping will be adding the new Verit model to their inventory soon. Happy to hear the switch should go smoothy.

They may be on the May contract but I don’t expect them until the November contract.

Oh, I missed reading that you are already aware of them.

They look like a good solution for high end ’s that use disposible batteries.
