Is there a remote mic with audio input compatible with Starkey Edge AI 24?

Hello again– After discovering this forum, I decided that “someone” may have an answer to an issue ever since I upgraded to Starkey Edge 24. I have a sever hearing loss, exasperated by an inability to also understand spoken word. I like the aids….. I’ve been a Starkey user for over 25 years. Before upgrading to Edge AI 24, I always used the ‘mini mic” to also connect to audio from mp3, or more importantly to my church’s “antiquated” rf system. The mic always had a mini jack input for “music”. I used it to connect to church’s sound directly to my aids.. The mini mic for Edge AI 24 is bluetooth only, so no connection. I’ve a “workaround. I connect my Bose headphones to this system and ‘mute” my aids.. This works, but I wonder if there is a better solution….Thanks for an excellent forum…. Make a good day. I am hoping will soon be available, I have the Rexton hearing aid. Rexton said that my hearing aids would be firmware updated to use Auracast this year.

The Starkey StarLink Table Microphone has a 3.5 mm input, so you can plug in things like an MP3 player or a church’s RF receiver and stream that audio to your hearing aids.

If your Starkey Edge hearing aids have a , you can also use a neckloop with those same devices. The neckloop sends the sound directly to your aids through the telecoil.

No, the current Signias and Rexton will not get . They have . This has been officially announced by Signia (see FAQ in the link below). Rextons are rebadged Signias .

I appreciate the suggestions. Yes my current Edge Ai24 do have a .. It is not satisfactory. the church’s rf unit has to1/8 mini jack inputs and a T coil loop.. However, due to the great number of children, the ambian nois is too loud.. I can plug my Bose headphones into the unit, and mute my aids and listen directly to the “serman” However, I have to carry these headphones and wear them. It works.

My previous Starkey were Evolv 1200 and had a mini remote mic (which does not pair to my current Edge Ai) which had a dual-purpose micro usb charge port. A micro usb with a 1/8 mini audio jack then plugged into this and connected to the church’s rf unit or mp3 player and streamed directly to my aids simultaneously cutting off all other sound. The “updated” StarLink Edge remote mic does not do this. It’s usb C charge port a is simply that . The mic connects via bluetooth to my aids. So my “work around” is clunky but works. The other alternative is to find a Bluetooth transmitter to connect to the church’s rf and pair with my aids.

Hi Richard, the ReSound MultiMic+ has a 3.5mm Jack in it, I use it to pair my computer to my hearing aids.

It is an Auracaster, so your Starkeys will be able to pick up the from the Assistant.

Phil, thanks for giving me reason to checkout resound.. I had tried them last year, as my audiologist thought the mini mic would connect to my aids.. It did not so I tried the aids, but liked my Starkey better. He did not know the connection was via . I will check it ou.

As I’m sure you know, the Edge has and that is a Swiss Army Knife of connections. It will be more and more commonplace across everything as the years go on.
If you have the right Windows 11 PC, you’ll be able to pair your Edge AI directly. Next telly you buy? Auracast built in. That train now departing Munich station (well, in 2028) - Auracast for announcements.

I’ve really been delighted with going out and about and exploring Auracast in the real world - not as as a theory but a reality. I’m loving it! The Jack The Ripper tour I mention in the MultiMic+ review is a real highlight.

Thanks for the suggestion on the FlooGoo. I ordered it on amazon…$50 is a lot less than $400 for the Resound mic… I actually tried the Resound mic, but it did not connect to my aids. My audiologist didn’t know to use , or they would have connected. The FG needs an aux power, which I have, and I was able to plug in to a mp3 player to test it. I know it will work for my needs and it’s inexpensive. The mic would be more “convenient” but not at that price. Thanks again or the suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion. my Edge do have a tele coil, but they also have . The Starkey table mic is quite expensive. Another person suggested a FlooGoo FMA121 device that broadcasts in Auracast. It needs an aux power, but it works fine and was only $50. Take care.

I’m still not used to the forum format… It looked like your post was part of the one above it. Thank you or the suggestion.. Yes it does solve my issue. It was inexpensive, becasue it requires an aux power, which I already had. I tested it with an mp3 player. I know it will work with my issue at my church, and should eliminate the need to carry my Bose head phones.

By the way… I Grew up in Richmond., and graduated from Cal 1969. We moved to Alaska that summer, and I enrolled in Univ o AK teaching, and stayed 35 years– 28 years at Wasilla Jr Hi/Middle school…We’d probably still be there if either kid came back…Been near Corvallis OR since 2004 to be closer to family..

One guy that I worked with (HP) bought a farm in Corvallis because he needed the space for his 10 kids (I think he said 10). He was a bishop for a Church there. He was always talking how beautiful it is there.

Just re-read your post… Personal.. Corvallis is a “college pub town”. Fine dining is not in their vocab.. Oregon is a bad as California for taxes. As someone once opined.. When you are spending other people’s money it’s easy to keep asking for more. But that’s another story for another day.

We are 10 miles west of Corvallis city, in a rural area. The grandson will be a senior next year.. Grandma has been in 7th heaven, and we may have to deal with withdrawal … However, it is beautiful and only an hour to the coast… Alaska was awsome,(35 years wasn’t enough) but neither kid came back.
so now to hearing aids… I will be “test-driving” Starkey Omega to see if they live up to the $$ and hype. I returned the Floogoo since it needed a power supply. Too late, I did find that the Resoud mic broadcasts in and Starkey picks that up, but I did not know that at the time. I’ve since found that simply plugging the church unit into my Bose headphones (special cord from Bose required.) works, especially if I mute my aids.. Hopefully the Omega will have some improvement in voice/background noise as advertised. If not I’ll keep my Edge.
