Should I defer Costco appointment?

Scheduled for May18th to buy my first . Last week developed fluid behind my right eardrum which has substantially degraded hearing. My told me it will take between 3 weeks and 3 months to resolve. She said I could go ahead with my May 18th appointment but Costco will not be able to program HA or at least not do a final programming until the fluid is gone.

BTW, the professional is a very close match to the audiogram I generated with AirPod Pro 3’s for my fluid-free left ear.

When I visited Costco, I informed him that I had recently undergone an . The () inquired whether I would prefer a new hearing aid or use the one I brought. The HIS mentioned that as long as the audiogram was not over 6 months old, he could use the one I had.

And I answered that: I said that a hearing test was not necessary if you already had one (the liquid in your ear can affect the hearing test and it may not be possible to do a new one at Costco ).

This means that Costco can program the aids with the previous and do , etc. But the question is: with liquid in your ear , are you going to have issues after the fitting ?

I would wait but I don’t know how urgent you need those aids.

Gotcha. You are confirming what my said. I will probably wait but since I will (based on what I have read here) need more than one program adjustment, it may be ok to get the process started.

If they already have your they can set the aids up for that. I think your ent’s point should be you won’t hear the results of the aids correctly until that fluid has left your inner ear.
