Yes definitely prefer disposal, unfortunately the voltage difference between them is the issue, they need to get the chips and sensors to run lower voltages.

Music is outstanding using my Jabra 30s, but this is getting sound from Both streaming And over the air from same device. Roughly 50/50. Nothing fancy, just using a decent soundbar on my TV and streaming from the same setup. Usually UTube for the Music.

Not going to debate you, but known fact that China uses the lowest quality parts
Well that’s not entirely true, you could say the same for India, Belgium,Romania etc there’s a reason the biggest companies in the would set up shop in china, lots of this is actually moot, Chinese goods are now very good quality, yes you’ll always get your bargain banger shops that sell “junk” but big ticket items are anything but.

Tenkan, Probably most on this forum understand what you stated about the batteries. Unfortunately I do not. What is the voltage difference between disposal and rechargeable? Also are you saying that manufacturers need to decrease the need for higher voltage? I realize I’m severely testing the assumption that there is no such thing as stupid questions!

Most rechargeable are around 3.7v and disposal 1.4v so it seems 1.4v is simply not enough to run everything at the moment, there’s been a few posts on this subject over the years.

I bought the Rexton Reaches a year ago, but unfortunately, I had a lot of problems with them. So, I kept going back to Costco to get them fixed. Finally, I decided to return them late last year and got the Jabra Pro 30s instead. Since then, I haven’t had any problems. The only issue I had was that the Hearing Specialist failed to install the Speech Focus feature in the Hear In Noise program. But I managed to get it installed last month, and it’s made a huge difference. I can now hear conversations much better. I really enjoy restaurants, gatherings, and movies so much more now that the Speech Focus feature is installed.

They had a lot of hiss and the HIS didn’t seem to be paying attention to me.
Your high frequency hearing loss has a lot to do with this IMO. Are these your first hearing aids? If not your old hearing aids may not have been set up correctly for your current hearing loss. That turns this hiss into an acclimation issue or maybe not.

Are you looking at Costco’s Jabra Enhance Max? It’s rechargeable but sure sounds like a great option for severe/profound hearing losses.
Very nice latest technology too.

The first insisted that there was no expansion adjustment. The second HIS proved him wrong. The first HIS was just lazy. But after 6 weeks and no improvement at all with the hiss, I changed to the Sonite Rise and 3 weeks later, the little hiss I had is going away. The second HIS told me that the Philips have more hiss than others.

With the Jabra Enhance Pro 30 do you have 2 or 3 Quick Buttons on the Hear In Noise program screen?
I sometimes have 2 and sometimes have 3. Jabra support has told me that isn’t possible. I sent them photos. Now they tell me it’s my phone and not their problem. My phone is an iPhone Air which the app supports. The Costco specialist has called GN (Resound) support and they told him it wasn’t possible. He told GN support he was looking at my phone and saw the problem with his own eyes.
In conclusion, GN support has been rude and giving me the run around. They have done nothing to address the problem or admit the problem.
So I’m wondering who else has this issue?
I’ve attached photos.

Speech focus has significantly enhanced my ability to discern conversations in my surroundings with remarkable clarity. Prior to its installation, I encountered challenges in comprehending conversations in group settings. However, with the feature activated, I can now distinguish the voices of the individuals around me while simultaneously filtering out other ambient sounds. Moreover, I can now enjoy movies with improved audio quality. In fact, without the speech focus feature, my hearing aids functioned only half as effectively.

It looks your fitter did not set your sis up correctly. I had the same problem when I tried the pro 30s.
In the Hear in Noise is the program, by default, the DNN’s aggressive Intelligent Focus is turned off in the “All-Around” mode to save battery.
Your Costco dispenser has to specifically assign the Intelligent Focus backend setting to your Hear in Noise program slot.
Why checking this matters
Some users have found that they don’t notice the AI working. If you go into your Jabra Enhance Pro App under the Hear in Noise program and still see manual speech adjustment sliders (like “Narrow,” “Medium,” or “Wide”), it means Intelligent Focus is not turned on. Your dispenser accidentally left it on standard “Autofocus”.
When Intelligent Focus is correctly programmed by Costco, those manual width adjustments disappear from the app because the DNN chip takes over and automatically calculates the optimal cone of hearing for you. (You will only see two buttons on your app).
I had my fitter move the “Hear in noise” app to another program slot so I could choose between them depending on the noise station I was in

Yes, I am looking at Costco for my aids. I have a NHS appointment next week. I don’t think the NHS can do any more for me so hope to visit Costco very soon.

FWIW, my tech said she had many reliability issues with the Jabra 30’s. I did not ask for specifics since I could not get fitted until my resolved.

Specifically went for the Soundgears, even though I had to travel 2 hrs to a participating Costco. Since talking with my local Costco, they have received the Soundgear software, even though they do not sell the aids yet. Made it more convenient for adjustments.

I bought the Philips based on the Costco tech’s recommendation and I am happy with them. I also like the travel charger, that holds 3 full charges without plugging in. Without streaming, the last a good 27 hours. With streaming 23-24. I also bought the Jabra as a back up pair. I didn’t experience the tinny sound that some people do. They were fine, but I like the Philips app and charger better, so I returned them after 2 months.

Yeah but for the cost savings alone was worth it, do consider projects for the future, save time and money.

I just made a 85 minute trip myself for the soundgear amp. Tried them on and they ordered it for me. Going back next Tuesday to get fitted with them.
