To reduce external noise when streaming You can simply turn down the mics on your hearing aids. If you’re using an iPhone the shortcut is 3 pushes on the side button and turn down the outside mics. But don’t forget to put the mic volume up again when finished your walk.

I put my 9050’s on mute for streaming which works well. I find my open domes leave enough sound coming thru for spacial awareness. I can’t hear the music/podcast very well if I am near a busy street for example , but I figure that is more of a feature then a problem. Typically will just pause and turn the aids back up in that situation for safety.
What I wouldn’t mind is a "noise canceling” mode or maybe I could switch to a sealed dome for better listening in situations like at home or on airplanes where I don’t care as much about spacial awareness. I will sometimes just swap out for earbuds in those situations.

I just purchased the Soundgear . I get fitted this Friday 7/10/26. I had to travel 60 miles each way but it’s the only hearing aids that I wanted at Costco. I trialed them all. Sennheiser rise sounded good but battery life was short and no .
Soundgear has:
Great battery life
Auracast enabled
IP68 rated
And the best, is the sound quality and the Edge Mode +

Just ordered the Soundgear. First so I’m taking the advise of the Costco fitter and my wife who tried a couple others last year before getting a Rexton in-ear. I get fitted in just over a week.

Congratulations, vicikid62 ! I’m very happy with my Soundgear Amps!
Suggestion: While you are waiting, you might want to download the Soundgear app to your cell phone, if you haven’t already. (I have an android phone, so I downloaded it from the Google play store. Search for My SoundGear by Starkey Hearing Technologies. That’s the app.)
Having the app already downloaded on your phone will simply save a few minutes at your appointment. (I don’t think you will be able to explore the app until your appointment, however.)
Also, you may already know some of this, but in case not:
At your appointment, your will show you how to use your phone’s Bluetooth to pair your phone with the Soundgear app, so that you can access the programs, custom adjustments, Edge Mode, etc.
I believe there are some one-time app set-up steps. Your HIS should quickly navigate you through those.
Finally, your HIS should walk you through the basic settings and customization available using the Soundgear phone app. (There are a lot of adjustments you can make.)
Make sure your HIS shows you how to turn on and use Edge Mode specifically!

Love mine, and can you can create lots of programs for different enviorments besides the presets.

Thanks, downloaded the app yesterday and did all the steps up to where it wants to pair to the devices… so now we wait ![]()

I also started with the Philips in Feb. I think I had some static in situations with fans in the background. I went back for an adjustment and that helped. I also learned how to work with the settings for the best experience.
I tried the Jabra as well but didn’t keep them because I like the Philips travel charger tbh. I didn’t experience noise distortions (tinny sound) like others have mentioned. The sound was very good.
Every experience is unique. You have nothing to lose by trying different options. The tech who did my hearing test recommended the Philips and they ended up working for me.
Good luck

Just picked up my Soundgear AMPs today. So far, so good… but as a first time user, I foresee a generous learning curve ahead.

Another predictable failure …. AI is great in some contexts. For product selection, a human being is still better than a machine. AI can provide leads, but a human being needs to verify the interpretation of the leads.

I have Profound loss in one ear, and Severe loss in the other ear.
I recently got the Soundgear AMP with Custom Molds.
Works decent with my profound hearing loss.
Costco lets you try and return within 6 months. Give it the good ole college try! : - )

Sane here, one ear profound hearing loss. They put in a bigger reciver for that on my Soundgear. Works excellent for me.

I just talked with the SOUNDGEAR tech support lady, Summer. Their power receivers max is 140 and are required to be permanently embedded in custom hearing aid molds. That means that if anything goes wrong, the hearing aids must be returned to the factory, every time. Hopefully, that won’t happen. For those group members who were lucky to get these gems, be sure you still have your most recent hearing aids handy as back ups.
She told me which Costco stores in Washington State have the Soundgear AMP hearing aids: Spokane, Lynwood, Marysville and Kenwood. She further reported that, this is not definite, but Soundgear is expecting Costco to roll out these hearing aids to all the stores in September. I tried to call Costco Corporate office but these Jabra E P Max hearing aids keep disconnecting from the app on outgoing calls now. Very sad situation for me because, currently, Costco told me these Jabras are the only hearing aids they have for my hearing loss level.

I disagree with this, sure your right side is off the chart after 1Hz but your good to go for below that with any , your left side is easily accommodated by RIC as well, so your not limited to UP HAs at all, I think you need to talk to you audiologist again and get the trial on other models, Starkey soundgear would be a good start.

Costco should be getting news about new models from their suppliers .
Jaba and other manufacturers are already announcing new versions of their products. Anyone else shopping for new models ?
