Two hearing aids and streaming

Background: i have widex evoke for my deaf ear and widex moment that can stream for my better ear… since my deaf ear is well deaf i didnt think i’d need it to stream and receive call, so i get conventional non streaming one for that one. But now I wanna change it since its now worn out to match the moment one, with streaming too bc i assume it would help with loudness bc the moment isnt loud enough to receive calls in noisy environment and i would love to finally be able to stream music adjusted to my hearing loss to both ears. Something that had never been done before.

Question for those who have both streaming hearing aids: curious how seamless is the integration, does it work as well or is it just on paper? I have an iphone and widex moment worked seamlessly, but that was one piece, idk if i have two it will work together as a pair or just individually? I have nothing to base expectations. Can two different models work as a pair? My ears use different models, one and one does it matter? What about its a different line, say allure and moment?

A few data points for you on things I’ve tried, none of which my help, but may spur ideas. I use Oticon hearing aids (More 2 and Intent 1) and a Pixel 9 phone.

The first problem with Oticon is that the Oticon app does not support connecting two pairs of hearing aids to the phone. If you still want you different kinds of hearing aids, just getting them connected may be an issue. Perhaps from different manufacturers you could run two apps, but that doesn’t seem seamless. Perhaps from the same manufacturer, the fitter can mark them as a pair. Not sure.

As far as streaming media, it might be possible to use for this, if your phone and both hearing aids support it. I use this when I wear hearing aids and Pixel Buds together (hearing aids for higher frequencies, and the bass-forward Pixel Buds for lower). However, this doesn’t work for phone calls. Again, not seamless.

IDK if either of these ideas may help, but things to think about.

Pairing a single pair of hearing aids at a time is a limitation of and . To pair two pairs one would need one pair to use classic Bluetooth which means a Sonova product and one pair to use ASHA/MFi. Perhaps Google/Apple will eventually add more flexibility or will eliminate this issue.

If one isn’t switching back and forth midday, it’s a process but not that terrible to pair a different aid in iOS. Other than for streaming/calls, ideally one can use aids without pairing (designs without buttons or touch controls such as Widex SmartRic should not exist).

Wow, probably late to the game here, but you do indeed have vastly different for each ear. Even so, I wonder if your life could be much simplified with a SINGLE maker/model of aid fit to each ear. Should be seamless for hearing, streaming, programming, the whole 9 yards!

What did you finally decide on … or shall I skip to the end of the thread and work my way back? :wink:
