I have only recently discovered there was such a thing as . I have since researched it in depth. Having done so, I realise how much I have missed out on as my audiologist never offered (or mentioned) REM. I realise that my hearing aids (starkey evolv 2400) might have been under performing all these years ( I have them four years and have an appointment next week before the warranty runs out). Is it unusual for an audiologist with 35 year’s experience in the business to omit this test and rely solely on the “Pure Tone Audiometry” test. I feel very frustrated having paid a lot of money for these top tier aids only to (allegedly) have them underperforming due to the limited information used in programming them.
