VA hearing exam an hearing aids updates

My annual hearing exam today no changes to my hearing. My Phonak Spheres were finally updated to the Ultra level. My Oticon INTENT1 aids were finally updated to 1.4 so that is available.
I had the manual programs removed from my Spheres as I didn’t use them. I have to admit that speech and streaming sounds a little different after the update to my Spheres. The sound is softer with no rough edges.
I cannot say anything about my INTENT1 aids as they sound the same. No auracast in the area to know what the big deal really is.
I deleted all data from both hearing aid apps and paired fresh.

I have to say that I really love my Sphere Ultras. The sound is better and the battery life is even better than before. The minor change my audiologist made to the autosense has prevented my Spheres from going into Spherical program or the speech in noise as quickly as my aids were doing. This has actually my my hearing aid experience so much better. It has made my aids give me a richer sound.
By the way I only have autosense, the Roger’s microphone and TV adapter, and streaming programs to contend with. I deleted the programs that Myphonak app automatically setup, TV, Music and restaurant. They just aren’t needed for my use.

If interested, you can buy a simple transmitter to connect to your TV. It will have less delay than .

You can also persuade your church to connect Auracast to their soundboard - however, connecting it requires special effort since soundboards have balanced outputs. (Tell them to connect it using a passive direct box with inputs&outputs swapped if the mixer has only balanced outputs. Also feed it from a MTX buss that can take a feed from the main buss, and then run it thru a compressor with instantaneous attack time, max ratio, and longest decay time.)

My INTENT1 aids are only my backups. I wear my Phonak Spheres most of the time. I have no trouble hearing in our church services as it is a wonderfully acoustic place. I only watch TV over once in awhile and have tv adapters for both of my aids. Like I have said I see no real need for at this time.

It has been 11 days since my Spheres were updated to the Ultra level. I am absolutely blown away at the improvements in sound and battery life. I am not saying that before the sound wasn’t good or the battery life was bad. My aids are setup with autosense, the Roger ON3 and of course Bluetooth streaming. I stream a lot in the way of audio books and TV by way of the Roger ON3. I sat through a concert with my aids with no need to adjust volume or autosense settings. I go to meets and use the Roger ON3 as a pointer mic but honestly could do the meetings without the Roger ON3 if I had to, but with slightly more stress. If the Spheres had been around 13 years ago I wouldn’t have had to retire.

Wearing my INTENT1 aids today and noticing the much softer sound of the INTENT1 aids as compared to the Spheres. It actually makes speech understanding harder. I definitely understand speech much better with the Spheres.
What would be my ideal hearing aids though would be the Spheres with the le audio/ as the one thing I do notice is that notifications can be so much more annoying with Bluetooth Classic. But I do prefer Bluetooth Classic for having more devices to connect to without needing extra connectivity devices to worry about.
