BACKGROUND - I currently wear Oticon More 3 and have an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Since the IOS 26.4.2 install I have been experiencing the Bluetooth disconnect issue that’s been going on between these to companies. I have exhausted tech support with both companies.
QUESTION - What HA or company works best with iPhone 17 Pro Max?
I’ve been researching this and need assistance. Your advise is greatly appreciated.
Bruce, I have Optician Intent 1s’ and an iPhone 17 Pro Max running iOS 26.6. Not having any issues at present. Have you tried updating to the latest iOS? Also running Oticon Companion 1.7.1 on my iPhone.
Seems to me you have things backwards. What’s important is your hearing. The best phone is the one that is compatible with the best hearing aids for your best hearing.
What you have should work well. Have you forgot the aids and removed the oticon app from your phone? Then boot the phone and reload the app. Then start a new pairing for your aids to the phone.
Run only one device on Bluetooth.
Turn off all notifications except one or two that you really need.
I have deleted the aids in the Bluetooth section and deleted the Oticon app several times with Apple support on the phone and chat. I’ve also been to Best Buy (where Apple support told me to go) with the same results. All firmware is up to date. What happens is a call will come in and start on the phone for a couple of seconds, go silent for a couple of seconds then connect to the . When the phone is on silence, the call still starts to come through the phone’s loudspeaker. Been to my audiologist and she updated the firmware, disconnected the Bluetooth, then reconnected it and didn’t solve the issue. She also contacted Oticon and they told her they are seeing alot of problems with iPhone 17s and its an Apple problem.
I have tested the HAs on an iPhone 15 Pro and didn’t have a problem. Then tested them on a friends 17 Pro Max and the issue occurred with that phone.
Apple says it’s the HA and Oticon says its the phone. That all being said, the HAs are 3 years old and I have an appointment with a different audiologist this Friday, (insurance changed providers) to look at new HAs. I feel I have exhausted the support lines of both companies. My old audiologist recommended Phonak Infinio Ultra Sphere. I have moderate to severe hearing loss. In large groups like church, going to concerts (large concerts I just take the HAs out) and restaurant conversations, the Oticon More 3’s that I have do not perform very well.
In the MyDevices list in Settings->Bluetooth? My Oticon Real 1’s don’t show up in that list on my iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 26.5.2. I paired them in Accessibility, as an device not a regular device.
I have the same app version installed. I hardly use it, but I just started it and changed some hearing aid settings to make sure it’s connected to the aids. Still not seeing the aids in the MyDevices list, for whatever that’s worth.
