I can’t get excited about the Oticon and Resound announcements but I can about this… for some reason.

Excellent news that a second earbud manufacturer finally wakes up to market these things as . I somehow suspect Samsung will do a better job than Apple.
What still bothers me is that HAs can (legally) only serve those with weak-modest hearing loss. Why can’t I get a prescription and pick up “OTC” HAs/earbuds that address more serious hearing loss? Technology-wise, stronger amplification is not the problem. I understand the safety issue. But is it that different from picking up a box of pills from a pharmacy that, when taken all at once, can kill you?

I just hope they don’t try to lock all the good stuff into their own ecosystem. I loved Airpod Pro 2 when I had an apple phone. The phone started to die and I went with Android because Apple didn’t support . I haven’t used those buds since.

Hmmm… yes… “Full support requires a compatible Galaxy device with One UI 8 or later.” sounds ominous indeed.

Not terribly surprising though. Airpod Pros are essentially the same. I am an Android user through & through but bought a iPad with required OS just so I could support Airpod Pros; for my use case they are that good.
