Welcome to the new Hearing Aid Forum!

I like this, much modern look, almost feature-complete when compared to discourse directly! Thanks to the team's hard work.

A few small details that I noticed:

• The timestamp of a reply/thread only shows date on hover missing the time, I think the element title that shows when hovering should have a time as well whether it's a "3h" main text or the date, for older posts.

• I miss this "back" functionality when scrolling far up or down it brought me to the first post I stopped at when I started scrolling.

• It seems expanding post direct replies shows the expanded timestamp by default, just inconsistent with the normal post view.

• Also when the reply to a post is directly the post after it's missing "In reply to @username"

Inspired by! But, we've also made a lot of changes and additions :)

Thanks for the other feedback, these are good callouts!

I fixed everything but this one. I wasn't sure it was necessary. Let me know how timeline scrubber thing works for you...

@AbramBaileyAuD one thing I am missing from the old forum is the ability to click on my profile and see the list of likes/replies to my comments as a call-out and dismiss the notifications from there. It takes a lot longer to go to the notifications page and mark all as read.

You can change the font size using the hamburger menu and selecting a different size from the drop down.

I appreciate the kind message @Roberto !

Regarding the font sizing / line spacing. It may just be that I have a really spacious laptop screen and then work on dual 4k monitors that I never notice this issue.

To be it looks perfect on normal mode. And small gets pretty tiny:

But, I will go ahead and make an extra small setting for you guys who have smaller laptop screens or who have a default zoom level on windows that is >100%. I can see that may be a problem now.

For what it's worth, the AI assessment of your screenshot was this:

I was glad to see the assessment because I was using the golden rules of legible typography when designing the site, like limiting max characters per line and using proportionate line height to my font sizing etc. Having said that, I need to cater to everyone :)

Also ironically, chatgpt isn't using its own recommendations!

The jump to is a really nice feature. I was finding having to scroll down to the bottom of this thread on my mobile was getting painful. I am really liking the new Jump to feature.

Glad you liked this! It was driving me nuts and was one of those things I built to make my life easier.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I am using the default recommended zoom size of Windows 11, which for some reason defaults to 150%. I can't have it on 100% because then I can't read the text as well on most websites.

I am not really concerned if the font size stays as is. I will get used to it very quickly and I am all in favour of supporting older users (who are probably the predominant age on this forum as generally most hearing aid needs are age related). I just posted it because I noticed that you said that you could not see the problem. I can get used to it very quickly, so I am really not fussed.

My only thought would be - instead of offering different sizes, just add css code (if you want) to set font size as x for 100% zoom and as size y for 150% zoom.

I could obviously change my zoom size to 100% but that ignores the reality that Microsoft have decided to default to 150% zoom on Windows 11. So, you need to work with the default of operating systems. Having said that, even on my samsung Galaxy S25 phone I find the spacing a bit large. The text size is fine, but the spacing is like 1 and half lines in height? So based on my phone, maybe the bigger issue is the line spacing, not the size of the font.

Yes. Actually think the reason why it seems a bit jarring is the line spacing is too big.

But I happy with whatever you want to make the default. It's really a small thing to be honest.

I'm also on Windows 11 with a 27" (68.58cm) monitor. Windows default for me is 1920 x 1080 with scale at 100% which I can't read even with glasses. I leave scale at 100% and adjusted the screen resolution to a level which I can comfortably read without glasses. So in effect, I adjusted my display to what I want not what Microsoft wants. On my S25 I increased the font size as I needed even with glasses. This is what works for me with my level of eyesight.

I had to log out and back in to get the super tiny font size. I can still read this new font size without my reading glasses. Super tiny looks good to me. I'll leave it there for awhile.

Thanks @AbramBaileyAuD

Really glad to hear that. I'm hoping super small font size and Catch Up mode are the last big pieces of the puzzle

JK, keep it coming.

Ah, text can be small on 4k monitors while much larger on lower resolution screens. Windows scaling further complicates that.

This latest small font is in a good direction. Definitely not super tiny. I feel something needs some tweaking still but can't quite describe it. It may be the line spacing.

Since the font looks small on your screen, do the bolded thread titles have enough contrast compared to the not bolded ones? I could see some users having a hard time with the distinction in dark mode. This may be screen and screen brightness dependant. I agree with the comment about dark mode being more blue than black. That is making the blue bold titles harder to read. Could you experiment with a blacker color or offer both options? I think Discourse was blacker.

@AbramBaileyAuD , I didn't have a chance to visit the forum for a few days, and now that I'm back I've noticed quite a few usability improvements (the new catch up tab, clearing actions on individual threads, etc.) Looking good!

Have you tried resetting your password yet?

I have just renewed/resetted it now. I logged out and when logging back in, I was not asked for a password. My email address appeared and I clicked underneath which said "continue to forum"....fine...but this is what I had being doing for a short while...until the email stopped appearing and it started asking for my email so it could send me a link. Why the need to reset my password when I am not being asked for one?

Tried to sign in again just now. Back to the old routine..."Did you had a previous account.." Wanted my email and I had to get a link to sign in to write this post. When I renewed/ reset my password I was told it was successful. Before I signed in, I deleted all my cache.
