After a month of building, we've finally launched the new Hearing Aid Forum. You'll notice a few new features like better and a glossary of common audiology acronyms and abbreviations (you'll see underlined terms automatically appear in some posts—click on those!)

There are too many things for me to list right now, but please do let me know if you experience any issues with the new forum. We will be paying close attention over the coming weeks and hope to make many more improvements.

Great! You went live! It looks good! Reading and navigation is easier. I know you put a lot of work and time into it. I and other members appreciate it!

Is it possible to work on some view setting option such as font size and perhaps spacing between posts as well as an option for a forum/subforum view without the homepage details (it's a lot more scrolling to scan content versus the old forum)? Could the header and floating reply to thread at the top of the screen use less space? The reply to thread perhaps should not show at all once a user is drafting a reply but it still appears. The floating reply box leaves some visual noise if the text behind scrolls, some may have trouble figuring out what is going on with scrolling in the various frames, and in some views the visual space to enter text can be small.

Does the Unread feature work? It shows as empty, but I would have expected it to contain this thread.

I like the look, but the login process was painful.

Okay. It looks like I found a way to read the newest posts, but there are 500+ pages of new topics. I've also noticed that several old threads have been neco'd and show as new. I don't see a way to dismiss new threads (as existed on the old forum). Is there a way to get that back? I don't see myself reading through 500+ pages of old threads to manually read them. At this point, I'd like to mark everything as read and just read the latest posts.

Yes just noticed this to, I'm sure it's going to be fixed, just a very small detail, this is a great site for information and user experience, makes me feel good that I have very little issues with my hearing aids.

I realise that the forum is brand new and I need to spend a bit of time familiarising myself with how everything works.

However, I will post one question here which I think urgently needs answering.

When I clicked login and put my email address in and clicked on the link in my email to login to this forum, I saw a message similar to this -
Do you want Your forum login to be connected to this HearingTracker account?
What does that mean? As far as I am aware I have only ever had a forum login which I thought was my Hearing Tracker account. So what's being linked to what? I just said yes, because I wasn't sure what would happen if I said no.

One comment - I would prefer swopping the number of replies with time of last reply. It is of more interest to me to quickly see that the last reply was 1 hour ago than that there are 40 replies!

I will spend time on the forum this weekend and give my feedback. However, some users have mentioned it's not really mobile friendly. If that is indeed the case, I would suggest making that your first priority because most people view websites on their phone nowadays. I only login to hearing tracker on my desktop when I want to post a comment, but otherwise view the forum on my phone.

It might be useful for the registration email to add useful advice to users to clear cookies and passwords for this forum in their browser otherwise they will have a devil of a time logging in.

So someone posts a new thread and it shows up as bold. Then you read it and it goes light. All good. Edit: Then someone replies before you refresh and then you refresh and you get the bar saying new activity. The thread does not return to bold. Nope. Not now. Even just returning to the tab does a bit of a refresh and the thread goes bold and the new activity bar appears. Sorry. False alarm.

The old system used to have a little indicator up by the tab that a new item has appeared. Only when not logged in. If logged in then you got a big notification thing. I have several tabs open in my browser. Due to the little indicator up by the tab before, I would log out of here (or not log in at all) and go on reading my other things. It was nice to see some indication of activity. Now nothing even when logged in.

@Roberto : The new system keeps you logged into the main site once you've logged in. This stays so even after logging out here and closing the browser. A little benefit is that you don't have to do the code step afterwards. If you go to the main site and scroll all the way down to the bottom and in the bottom right is your logged in status.

I did some work on this earlier. Let me know if it still seems to be a problem

I did some work today to make the posts more condensed and more visually focused on the post. I also did some work on mobile to give the posts a lot more space. Let me know if you still have concerns and if so, what type of device you're using. Thanks!
