From your replies, I understand that I expressed myself poorly or it's Google Translate's fault. In the video, the surrounding noises disappear completely and you can only hear that person speaking, and everything seems fine. My concern was that a person with normal hearing doesn't hear this way—that is, they don't completely separate the dialogue from the noise, but they still hear some of the surrounding noise. I keep the dialogue in the foreground, so what hearing aids do, in my opinion, isn't natural. I hope I explained myself better this time.

I see you've already received excellent replies from a technical standpoint, so let me share my first-hand experience. I have profound hearing loss and UP receivers in custom C-shells. The Spheric Speech in Loud Noise program for me is a game changer. It doesn't fix my inherent hearing problems, but boy, does it take away the stress of trying to *hear *the person talking to me while I am working in noisy places. If you want to keep it simple, normally you have to struggle to hear the person speaking, then process that information, and then struggle again to understand what they said; now you can pretty much eliminate the first part. I think the promo video does a good job showing that, but trying the real thing in person, at least in my case, is much better.

Just finished reading through all these messages. Great news to see the Sphere platform continue to evolve. Not sure that this is a worthy upgrade for anyone who has already purchased the Sphere Ultra (like me). I'm in no rush to get AuraCast so I'm happy to wait until they rollout the upgrade for the Ultra in the coming months. A better Wind block would have been really nice but not not really worth spending another $6K plus I'm totally pleased with the size and battery life on the Ultras. For those with older hearing aids, this is a good upgrade for the Spheric AI program alone.

I can concur with this. With the I90's in Spheric mode and custom C-shells, I've gone from "I don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of hearing anything anyone at my table is saying in this noisy restaurant" to "I stand a pretty decent chance of hearing a good portion of what my tablemates are saying".

Disappointingly, sphere does not seem to work anywhere near as good as the video would make you believe. I will be getting the Eon model in a few weeks and perhaps it will work better.

I have just returned my new Spheres as I couldn’t get on with them, my old Lumity’s I don’t even notice them but the Spheres were uncomfortable & the only difference is the physical aid, have eczema in my ears so that doesn’t help matters ears always itching but now I got the old Lumity’s back in no itching.

I went on a coach tour last week so I used the Sphere’s while away thinking i would get used to them but I was glad I took my Lumity’s because I had to revert to them & according my audiologist this part is probably a setup issue but when in the coach I could hear people three seats to my rear but not my wife sat next to me also in a noisy restaurant I could hear people three tables away but not my wife sat opposite me my wife tells me I have selective hearing 🤷‍♂️ but of course I denied that, I have the EON Sphere’s coming mid September so I can put up with having to use the Lumity’s until then.

Funny, my wife says the same thing. Of course we know they're wrong.

You are not alone. I occasionally experienced same weird thing when I trialed Sphere last year. Sometimes it pick up the right speech sometimes not, and how it selected the speech is a mystery. even at the same venue and similar noisy environment the result is varied. But one thing I discovered is that if you are in public transport or not stationery i.e. walking the chance is higher.

I asked my audiologist how this happen and any solution: She said this is AI lol.

What is “international” in this case? When I messaged my Audi last week she said she expects to be fitting people by mid September. This was before the official announcement. What you said would make sense if it’s referring to regions outside NA and/or Europe or something along those lines but from what I’ve seen HA manufacturers don’t have splashy launches like other tech. The announcement we got on Monday is effectively the launch.

Nope, there are splashy launches for new platforms. They're just targeted at clinicians. Check out the other thread (unavailable) for footage from the North American launch.

This depends entirely on your fitting. If you have an open fitting allowing the noise in with the output of your HAs, then you won’t see nearly as much benefit. If you have a closed fitting or active vents, you should see pretty nearly what the demo provides.
