Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with one of my Oticon Jet 2 hearing aids and I’m trying to figure out what could be causing it.
The problem started with the hearing aid repeatedly reporting “low battery”, even when using brand-new batteries. I tried several fresh batteries from different brands and confirmed that the batteries have normal voltage.
Now the hearing aid behaves like this:
- Insert battery → powers on
- I can hear brief microphone/ambient sound
- No normal startup/boot chime
- After about 2 seconds, it shuts off completely
I’ve already checked and cleaned the battery contacts, and there is no visible corrosion, rust, residue, or obvious moisture damage. I also tried multiple known-good batteries.
The hearing aid is only about 7 months old.
Has anyone experienced this behavior with an Oticon Jet/Jet 2? Could this be related to the battery voltage sensing, power-management circuit, or another internal electronics issue?
I’m mainly looking for ideas on what could cause this behavior and what I should test next before sending it for service.
