Will/does Costco Hearing Center know I am using a Noahlink & software?

I placed an order for a Noahlink on Amazon, and it should arrive today. I also have an appointment on Thurs (day after tomorrow) to adjust my Philips 9050. If I connect my 9050 to the Noahlink, will the hearing center at Costco be able to find out the have been connected somewhere else when I go in for adjustment Thurs? I don't plan to adjust any of the settings until after my Thurs appointment, just to familiarize myself with the software.

Hi there @sn2025 yes they could, but makes no sense to worry about this, remember these are your and you don't need "permission" to do what you like, your Audiologist works for you not the other way around, ok so it would be better to wait till after your appointment at Costco, you can use the demo simulation mode in Hearsuite in the meantime to get familiar on how things work in the software.

I may not need their permission but I still need them if I mess up my while updating them. I guess the important points are to back up the original settings before making changes and to read the user guide before doing anything with it. Thanks.

If you don't save changes to the aids, nothing changes.
(Some software like Signia/rexton save changes as you change something in the software, others only change the configuration when you decide to save the configs).

If you change something on the aids, the fitter will get a mismatch notice when connecting the device to the Costco SW.

If you change the settings and later revert to the original configuration, the Costco fitter will still get a mismatch warning. (So no, reverting to a saved config will not avoid the warning, I guess it takes into account the change date).

This has happened to me. At Costco, the fitter ignored the warning. At my Audiologist’s office, she inquired if the hearing aids had been reprogrammed, to which I responded, “What do you mean?”

Thanks. I haven't made any changes to my yet because the adjustments they made last week have been pretty good, and I will stick with them. While I have not made changes, I did connect my HAs to the fitting software via Noahlink. One thing I noticed is the usage data changed. The 1st time I connected, the usage data covered the period from my 1st fitting at Costco to the time I connected. The 2nd time, the data are since my 1st connection. I guess that is one of the parameters the SW can check. Anyway, my Costco Hearing Center is so busy; I don't think they will waste time asking me why the settings are different from their database.

I don't think so either and, if they do, just say "I don't know"

I did my first change last week. A couple of weeks ago, my audiologist updated the firmware and this re-enabled the press-button-to-change-program the audiologist has previously disabled. It took me a few days of trial and error before I figured out that I was inadvertently changing programs when cleaning the hearing aids. Rather than set up an appointment and take the time, I just fixed it myself. If my audiologist asks about it next time I'm in, I plan to tell them. I don't expect any conflict will result.

Yeah don't worry about it, there's a time stamp difference but as you say they'll not bother trying to find out "why" you don't need to tell them anything anyways, once your full time you'll not be going back! unless you need to send the back for service you won't be needing them again.

It shouldn't...but unless you know for sure then they could get a bit "salty" probably better to just play the "dunno" card.

Well, I wouldn't have even done it except the firmware update messed up my settings. I plan to use that as my counterpoint to any saltiness. 😉

There probably won’t be any telemetry, but once you go back to Costco, they can immediately spot it from the hearing aid logs. However, my audiologist doesn’t care; I’ve discussed options with them multiple times. We always work together to fine-tune the settings.
