I've asked this before, but I've never gotten a clear answer, perhaps because few hearing aid users are movie buffs. Since Phonak implemented the second chip dedicated to separating dialogue from noise, I've always wondered how the algorithm behaves in the cinema: does it treat all the audio in the cinema as if it were noise, allowing you to understand the dialogue but eliminating all the surrounding dynamics? Or does the understand that it's a cinema and therefore doesn't completely mute the entire soundtrack surrounding the dialogue (music, gunshots, explosions, etc.)? I'll need to replace my Phonak P90s soon, and I'm thinking of getting the EONs, but I'd first like to know if I should ask them to create a "cinema" program that disables noise suppression.
