Getting tighter Ear Moulds

I'd also suggest making sure your receivers have the proper length. Mine come in multiple lengths to fit different users. If the wire is a tad on the short side, it could be pulling the molds out as the canal moves with normal jaw movements.

Music stores and websites often carry a few products for the in ear monitors musicians use. They're very similar to hearing aids, but the prices for those products are usually lower (sometimes quite a bit) because they aren't selling anything exclusively for medical use.

Okay, I've just ordered one pack to give a try from Polish branch of the Thomann.

84 PLN per pack and 25 PLN shipping ($21.5 and ~$6.5 equivalent).

A bit tear-jerking, but "fortunately" I have only one hearing aid (not counting the spare one).

Which style molds do you have? What material are they made of? With your hearing loss everything needs to be right for best hearing.

That would be great, I had skeletons for most of my life. Unfortunately, that's unavailable with Phonak's titanium cShells. And not necessarily make tight fit unless you have silicone ones.

Comply wraps, making tightness where I want (near receiver outlet, which is usually placed at the gradual border where ear canal become less mobile) are a potential godsend.

The most mobile part of ear canals are between 1st and 2nd bend of them due to temporomandibular joint placed anteriorly.

No, but may prevent slipping out of the canal earmolds. And provide higher and more stable feedback threshold.

Let us know how this works out. I looked at the picture of the wrap around the mold in an earlier post. The circumference of the mold changed radically with the wrap.

@MDB, look at the 6-8 kHz ('s' sound) range in my 3 fittings here. From left to right M - P - UP receiver. EDIT: it's DSL 5.0 Pediatric in all three fittings END OF EDIT:

M was a BS, Infinio Sphere 90 was poorer than my old Paradise 90-RT.

Currently on P in Unitron power domes due to thicker silicone than Phonak's. Works significantly good, enough to be life-changing, but still not in 100% potential.

I temporarily had titanium UP with 1 mm vent (it's minimum for titanium cShells, 0.5-0.8mm is not possible). I had the best outcomes in quiet situation with it, but noise isolation was awful compared to Unitron power domes. However, I have never chance to test them in the restaurants, clubs, etc.

With this in mind, I risked and ordered cShell with UP and no vent. Unfortunately, first samples has exceptionally bad retention and slips out near instantly after my talking. So I sent them to be remade.

Perhaps Comply Soft Wraps would be helpful in that case.

EDIT: all fittings in the screen are with DSL 5.0 Pediatric, so +10 dB across all frequencies compared to the Adult version.

I really doubt you're getting in audibility in the 6-8khz sound range without frequency lowering. I suspect anything you hear past 3 khz is going to rely on frequency lowering, but I'm no expert.

Why I should compress 6-8 kHz to, for example 1-3 kHz, where I have even worse hearing loss?

Then why I have better outcomes with P receiver, which provides much more gain over 3 kHz than M receiver? I'm not saying even about UP receiver.

Why I am not percepting distortions, when 's' sound or pure tone 6-8 kHz is played? And deteriorations in speech understanding, when more gain over 3 kHz is applied?

My take from your curves is that you don't have audibility beyond maybe 2500 hz. Options would be to lower higher frequencies into that range (if it doesn't make things worse) or maybe go with a completely occluded fitting and try to cram more gain up there, but I have the feeling that high frequencies may be largely a lost cause. Again, just my take. No claim to expertise.
