Hi all ,
Hoping to get some advise regarding my hearing loss and the Phillips 9050s. As you can see in my audio, my left and right ear have different losses. The left more uniform across channels however poor word recognition, while my right is good in low range and horrible in high (ski slope), with still good word recognition.
I purchase the 9050s in the end of Sept( along with custom molds for both ears) and after going back multiple time to costco for fittings, I purchase my own hearlink and started DYI.
I have multiple questions that maybe you can help with.
- With every program (general, speech, automotive) aside from HiFi, I get a low to moderate constant background hum/hiss/static that only seems to go away if there is alot of noise. I assume it is compression but have only had moderate luck reducing, however in HiFi, I have none. The problem there is that Hifi isnt the best setting all the time when surronded by noise, at work , etc
- Female voices and soft spoken children are still harder to understand and they sound way off then before hearing loss. I dont know if this do the the high frequency loss. Even with the amplification, is this the best that can be done? Or is it the phillips 9050?
- I also seem to have constant drops with my Samsung S26 Ultra. Having read on this forum it seems to happen alot with these aides.
- With everyones' experience and possible same hearing loss should I switch to a different aide? Btw, I am a operating room nurse , so a good speech in noise is a must (Alot of enviromental sounds : low freq hvac, high freq alarms, people speaking behind masks). Also I would like them to work with my sansumg S26.
Thank you in advance.
P.S. I just found out about the 9060s so they are another option.
