Hello, lately i've had a big issue with my nucleus.
I've been implanted for ~18 years

issue started ~6 months ago
During normal use, I experience intermittent loss of connection with the implant. Even the slightest movement of the coil causes the sound to cut out and the indicator light to flash orange(being not connected to implant).
The problem also occurs when switching programs.
I can describe the moment of losing connection as -idk "fading out, or little microphone scrub".
it only happens when i start using my cochlear for the day(in the morning, after sleep or after washing my hair, or when laying on the side),

when i battle for about 10 mins, the connection can stable for many hours. Slight disturbance and i need to play with the coil to bring back the connection.
i need it fixed, it's just tiring when someone needs to talk to you at exact moment

It's not the cable problem - i changed it to another one and still it don't works
It's not hair - i stacked bunch of hair in one place and it connected after a while

Probably should go to some service place, but the nearest is 6 hour ride away so im asking here first. Anyone with the same problem/potential solution?

Clean the coil connection at the processor. If that doesn't fix it there is a good chance you need to replace the coil.

Do you use a dryer. This might help the problem as well.

The coil was replaced with the cable, i don't really use the dryer, last time i tried it so it maybe could help, it didn't. Should i use it couple of times ?

Yes. Maybe 5-6 times. Which dryer are you using?

Your description of when the processor disconnects sure sounds like a coil connector issue. Any movement at the connection seems to cause the issue. Have you wiggled the coil wire connection to see if it causes the issue? Try removing the coil from the processor, then brush, clean, blow out the connection on both the processor and the coil. You mentioned replacing the coil, was it new?

Is the battery in good condition?

i changed the cable and coil because of the issue, the one i changed to IS new, both cable and coil.

battery is in good condition.
