I have had my Oticon Agile Pro mini hearing aids for about two years or so. The are equipped with acrylic ear molds and medium power receivers.
Over the course of this two years, each receiver (the part that makes the sound and fits in the ear mold) has suddenly stopped worker about three times per ear. The audiologist has happily replaced them, however I have four questions/comments.
#1) Is this normal in terms of failure rate (I wear them about 17 hours per day)?
#2) Eventually, I would guess that the audiologist will start charging me for replacing them. How expensive are they?
#3) I replace that about every two weeks (not because they are clogged) as I do not have an excessive ear wax problem. I just feel like they should be replaced regularly.
#4) My other hearing aids, Phonak Audeo Smart S ’s have never had a receiver failure, but since the wax guards are finer and smaller, they require changing about every two or three weeks as they become slightly clogged effecting the performance.
Thanks in advance
