200 Miles 3 hour drive and round trip $100 for gas. Motel room for an over night another $90. Have them fitted and come back the next day for any adjustments. OR $2000 more for local vender, It would be an easy choice for me.
Yea but i really want the linx and costco doesnt have them yet. I do qualify for TruHearing soi can save $1800 that way and get service locally. I woudn’t have known about that except for the great advice from this forum.
Looks like about the same price as Costco. Do they have a 2 year loss - damage warranty, a three year over all warranty and life time free adjustment’s… ?

They Have a three year overall warranty with a one time loss on each aid with three free adjustments.
I have been using the Resound Linx 9 for several months and I thought I would pass along some observations concerning connectivity.
Forget the Resound app. It will only keep you frustrated. Rely on the settings within the iPhone. I have found the Resound Smart App is very unreliable. The settings within the iPhone can be accessed quickly from the lock screen by triple clicking the home button. Compared to the Resound app you can do everything within the iPhone settings with the exception of bass / treble settings and the location function.
Battery strength affects connectivity. My old hearing aids used the same 312 battery and lasted around six days. My old ’s did not stream or connect to a cell phone. I use my Linx 9 to stream calls and television for an hour or two in the evening. After three days connectivity becomes an issue. However, the HA’s continue to function as HA’s and the batteries will last four to five days. I usually change the batteries after three days since the ease of streaming is why I purchased the Linx in the first place.
A word or two on streaming. At first I was not very satisfied with the quality of the audio when streaming from TV. However, the more I used the feature the more I came to appreciate this feature. I have no complaints about the streaming of from my cell phone. Though it is not totally hands free I have found that I can place the phone on something nearby (3 to 5 feet away) and the other party is none the wiser. As for streaming music, that is something that I have given up on. Considering the size of drivers in quality earbuds compared to the size of the receiver in the Linx there is no way the HA’s are going to come close to sounding even average. Streaming music is a big battery drain.
Big battery drain - it’s not a good news! As I seen, even a Bluetooth 4 LE cannot solve a battery drain problem, so Oticon was right when made a Streamer Pro 1.2 App as an intermediate device for hearing aids! Oticon say that has a 10 times lower energy consumption than 2.4 GHz receiver. My joy from Resound Enzo vanished yet because I am guess its battery drain will be a same problem…
All my financing went through. Truhearing was able to directly bill Medico for the $1500 and I got a CareCredit Card good for the remaining $3000. Truehearing hooked me up with my audi! A surprise to her but she was still glad to get my business. Now it is the waiting game. My appointment for the fitting is on the 24th unless she can get me in sooner due to a cancellation.
I’d like your views on the Unite TV streamer. Is it worth it? I watch TV through my computer. I dropped Dish last year. Don’t miss it. I’m using Bose headphones now but still have to use closed caption to enjoy movies and that is iffy at times. I’m hopping these new Linx 9’s will improve my TV viewing experience. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Gene
Gene, Excellent news. I purchased and use the Phone Clip + and it works ok, I get complaints if its to far away from my mouth when speaking. Should work fine in the car however.
Watch TV 99% Direct TV using the speakers on the sound system. I would just try your viewing with the hearing aids first. The steamer could be added later if needed. Unless you just want everything in the complete package for a discounted price.
“With regards to the planned release of the (Android) App launch in September, unfortunately, this has been postponed until further notice. We apologise for the delay.”
Technical Support, GN ReSound
And in relation to whether the android app will support audio streaming over , GN Resound write:
"Our development team has advised that more details will made available later. "

“How user requirements affect technology choice for wireless hearing instruments” is ReSound’s whitepaper explaining their rationale behind choosing the “2.4GHz technology” compared to the .
One point they make is the lip-sync delay when watching video (with audio) is noticeable with NFMI (at between 60ms-130ms for NFMI compared with about 15ms delay at 2.4GHz). That is a substantial difference and could get really annoying for NFMI.
I’ve been testing Linx 9 for about a month under travel conditions with tours, entertainment, noisy dinners at big tables and more. I tested the Linx 8 for a few weeks before. Huge difference to me over my old (6 year old Rexton Cobalt)–like 100% better, with the 8s being 75% better. My husband can’t believe what I am hearing. I don’t use the app much, but love the settings on the phone, especially getting to precisely raise or low the sound. I have a few frustrations and am going for a tune up. Would appreciate the right ways to describe my issues to my audi. I am her first Linx user and the rep actually flew in to help set mine up and I know I’ll get good support. (Very small town here.)
Music. I listen to classical music all day while I work. When their is a high-frequency sound, especially violins, the HA literally screech (over-modulate?) I am guessing that these have been set to really boost the highs (for speech), but I need to tone these for music. Can this be done? Right now, I am listening to music and another characteristic of the setting is that the keyboard clicks on my computer are very loud! We could soften these too.
When I stream music from my iPhone to my HA, the sound is really horrid, quite tinny. Can I get a setting to solve this? I am not super fussy, but I can’t stand grating sounds.
I do like the restaurant settings, but can I do some sort of custom speech-in-noise?
Is there a way to see (in the app or somewhere) where I am–like which restaurant?

Hmmm… I see we must make choice - either battery drain or sound delay - both at the same time are incompatible today.
I finally got my new . Linx 961. There is just no comparison to the 9 year old Unitron Moda pair these replaced. I thought I couldn’t whistle anymore, I just couldn’t hear myself is all. The Unitrons must have taken a few months to slowly die to the point I finalized they just weren’t working anymore.
So I’ve had these for 6 days now and here is what I’ve noticed:
Streaming music is a no go. Just can’t get symphonic sound out of something so small. Can’t even expect it.
Works great with my iPod. Doing everything expected.
Sound coming is fantastic. Me hearing myself is terrible.
This is better when I turn the volume down a few notches.
I can hear behind me for the first time in 20 years.
No big problems getting them paired. Not dropping out at all. 3 days in I installed iOs8, no apparent difference.
My audi only installed ‘all around’, restaurant and music programs for now. Took me 4 days to realize I had to let the restaurant program
settle in and adjust to the environment to be able to appreciate that setting.
I won’t be getting the TV streamer thing (Unite). I can’t see how that would benefit me. I can now enjoy a movie at the theater
for the first time in many years. I can hear 95% of the dialogue. TV at home is 100% better (and w/o the Bose headset).
All in all I’m very happy. I think since I went so long with outdated and worn out HAs that these are like getting my first hearing aids ever.
The technology has advanced so far that I was literally left in the dust.
I’ll be going in for a follow up in a few days and at that time we’ll get the phone program installed. I’ll probably try the magnets and see how that goes.
Another thing is I believe the tubes are too long. I’m going to request shorter ones because these don’t seam to fit correctly against my ears. I tend to push them
in too far and that is not comfortable.

I just wanted to followup with my experience with the Resound Linx and the iPhone 6. I received my iPhone 6 this past Friday and I am happy to report that the connectivity issues I experienced with an iPhone 5 and iOS7 have greatly improved. I can’t speak to older iPhones and iOS8 since I have only experienced iOS8 on the 6. Accessing the ’s through settings has been very good. The Resound app is better but not as good as the connection setup in settings. In a recent email exchange with Resound I was informed there is going to be a firmware update to the Linx.

Hi Bob,
Did ReSound give you any indication as when the updated firmware will be available?
Here’s an email I got from ReSound:
“Following the market release of iOS 8, ReSound has conducted thorough testing with the new operating system, including the new iPhone 6. The version released to the market has at times shown some performance issues, in particular around connectivity and multi-device support.
At this point, we recommend waiting to install iOS 8 until an updated version is available to resolve these issues. In the event that you or one of your patients have already installed iOS 8 on their device, we recommend turning off Bluetooth on devices you do not want to connect to as you have done with iOS 7.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come pre-installed with iOS 8 so you will experience the same functionality described above. We anticipate these issues will be resolved with a future version of iOS 8.
We are working diligently with Apple to implement adjustments to their next version of iOS 8, but timing for the update has not been confirmed. We will keep you informed when an update has been released from Apple.”
I am trialing the Linx 7 after having used the Rexton Cobalt HAs for a number of years for mild/moderate hearing loss.
I am reasonably happy with the Linx and really like the iPhone integration despite the problems with pairing. I have updated to IoS 8 but have not yet reached any conclusions to whether it improves pairing functionality.
I was hoping that I would be able to enjoy music streamed from my iPhone. I can hear stereo music but the quality is what called in technical terms crap. I can hear quality sound from decent loudspeakers with the Linx HAs set to music mode or from good over-the-ear earphones after taking the linx out.
I can play FLAC encoded music on the iPhone which sound great using earphones and I can stream quality 256 kbps music over Wifi to the iPhone. In both cases, streaming from the iPhone to the linx HA produces very low quality sound.
As far as I know the iPhone supports streaming of low quality SBC encoded over Bluetooth using A2DP for stereo. I assume that this is what I am hearing and hence the low quality sound. iPhone also supports the better quality AAC encoded music encoded stereo over Bluetooth. As I understand it, even with big quality wireless earphones, SBC encoded music will always be of low quality.
So reasonable quality music could be supported if iPhone would stream AAC encoded music over (Bluetooth Low Energy) used for Linx HA and if Linx HA support the AAC codec.
Can anybody say whether Linx HA can or could support the AAC codec. Is it too energy demanding?
Is there any way to configure Linx HA to receive a stream of higher quality music (stereo or not).

I doubt it. It was originally for quick messages between two devices and didn’t even have an audio standard. Apple and Resound are using that to stream sound.
Plus, hearing aid sounds are focused on understanding speech, and music is just an extra. I’m sure it will continue to get better over the years. The streaming sound can be adjusted by your pro to add midrange and some low end, and that may help the tinny sound, and you eventually get used to it. I don’t mean you forget it’s tinny, just that songs start to sound like they used to again.
