Great news indeed. If I knew I would have waited for them. I switched from KS8 13T to KS9. I miss the longer lasting batteries.

Damn. I chose the model w/o the thinking I wouldn’t have any use for it and preferring a slightly smaller footprint. I didn’t even consider the battery lasting longer. I pick it up on 2/20.

If you confirm battery size is indeed the larger 13 and you want it, you can certainly return and exchange for it.

My Costco installer maintains that the automatic switching among listening conditions is so good that you really don’t need specific dedicated programs. He did, however, add a music program to my automatic one. I’d be interested in hearing what others have to say about effectiveness of the dedicated programs versus the automatic.

Bobwal,
I had my guy tell me the same thing. He want on and on about algorithms, blah, blah. So, I did my research, called back and said, I know about how good the automatic program is, but I also know there are some manual programs available to “enhance” my experience, and I want one that will immediately connect to a speaker when I am in a noisy environment. He finally did it, but I"m pretty much ready to let him go.

Can anyone tell me why my phone won’t connect to phone calls anymore through my bluetooth? It will only let me connect to audio?

In case it’s not clear to some, your music program is the same one that the automatic switcher can choose; “dedicated” just means that you can choose it whenever you decide to. (However, there is one program not available to the automatic switcher that can be programmed to be available when you choose: it’s a directional focus on speech. It’s call Speech in 360º on the Marvel but I forget what it’s called on the KS9.)

I believe it is called Speech Direct on the KS9 aids.

I have the same issue. I think it is the hearing aid switching from bluetooth mode with your phone back to automatic mode. Everytime your scroll by an item with audio, the hearing aid will switch to bluetooth mode from your phone, when you scroll further it will connect back to regular sound amplification. I hope I explained that correctly.

Check your phone settings. On my Samsung Note 10+ (Android 10), when I hold the Blutooth icon, it show me the various devices it’s been paired to. I press the gear icon next to R-Phonak hearing aid, it brings up two on/off buttons. One for calls, the other for music.
Make sure the calls is turned on. Your phone remembers your setting.

What does “speech direct” do? Actually found it. It automatically detects which direction speech is coming from and puts it into both hearing aids. So, you lose directionality, but at a table with people around you in a louder room, it lets you hear without having to face each speaker, as Speech in Loud Noise would do.

Agreed,
Here is a copy and paste. I looked it up too. I really didn’t have a good answer off the top of my head.
I am not positive Speech Direct is Speech in 360.
Automatically selects the direction of speech and streams this to the other ear, improving speech intelligibility without the need to face the speaker.

I guess the remote programming would be anathema to Costco Hearing’s business model. They want you in the store!

So (and I sincerely apologize if this has been discussed already) the KS9s can only connect to one device at a time? That rather explains the frustrations I have had with mine.
I can connect to my iPhone and then pair with my Mac. I am then unable to connect with my iPhone until I unpair and re-pair them.
But… $1500 vs $4k…
