I wouldn’t see why not. I’m not sure of your Costco but I do have to give major props to the employees here at mine. When talking to me about the warranty etc he was super nice and not put out by anything. Any reason whatsover if I’m not happy to come see them. New domes no problem, need more power no problem, they’ll switch out the amplifier. Dog ate it no problem…not happy in 6 mos no problem, bring them back and get a full refund…unless the dog ate one then there is a problem because it has to be the originals that are brought back…not sure what would happen in that case but anyway I wouldn’t see why they wouldn’t take them back and swap them out.

Assuming you’re in the US and have 180 day return privileges, I think it can happen, but it likely won’t be a simple exchange. I think you’ll need to return them, get a refund and purchase new aids. On the good side, your warranty would start fresh.

It’s not possible on the KS9’s sibling, the M90-312.

So I do have a question for the group or rather I need a deeper explanation in reference to the “Mute” option. It has been discussed in this thread and from what I gather this feature would be very useful for me. I was talking to the Costco rep who did my hearing test and he wasn’t familiar with what I was talking about or maybe I wasn’t explaining it correctly. He said if it’s an option they’ll find it and add it. I pickup my aids in a few days so if someone could re-explain it to me so I can explain to him that would be great.

My cliff notes version of my understanding is there is a function where you can mute out the outside world while still streaming music etc. From what I gathered on here folks use it when they are working in the garage etc where they want to listen to music but don’t want to hear the tools they are using etc. I understand it wouldn’t be as good as real hearing protection or true noise suppression but from what has been described on here, it is a feature folks have used and like. Does anyone know what this feature is actually called so when I go back in they will be able to find it and add it to the program list?

Yes that is what I was told today also. He said you must turn in your originals. So both get eaten by the dog, you get two new ones free. What happens when the dog eats them the second time? Highly unlikely, but if he told me I can’t remember. I will ask when I go back. More curious on my mute question if anyone knows that one. Lol

Costco will only replace the lost aids one time.

There are actually a couple of ways it can be done. If the button is set up that way, it can mute or unmute the microphone. Also if in Target one goes into the streaming program, one has the ability to enable or disable the hearing aid microphones and also control their level. For example, one could have the microphones enabled, but have them turned down 6dB. This is how it works on Marvel anyway and I’m guessing KS9 is very similar. Glad you had good luck with search function.

It’s the same for the KS9 aids.

With the Easy Line remote app installed on my android phone and paired with my KS9s, I can press and hold the volume slider and it will mute my HAs. Pretty handy and necessary when exposed to screaming ankle biters.

I’ve found that I can connect to two BT devices at the same time… sort of anyway. I normally have my HAs connected to my personal cell phone and use to to listen to media and control the volume when using the TV connector and app. Yesterday, I connected my HAs to my work cell phone. Now, I can listen to media and phone calls with my work cell phone, however I can continue to control the HAs with my personal phone using the app. One thing worth noting is that on my personal phone it does not show that my HAs are connected. However the app picks them up.

I think the app on your phone uses the same type of protocol as the tv connector. So it is only one bluetooth connection at a time. Maybe someday we might get a firmware update to allow two bluetooth devices at the same time. If not oh well I can live with that.

I’ve read the many posts about the KS9, mostly favorable, especially from Android users.

But I have an iPhone. My current Resounds work with my phone using MFI, not Bluetooth. In particular, they connect to the Resound app, phone calls get routed to my HAs, and when I play music from my phone, it plays thru my HAs. When I’m in my car, the music plays thru the car stereo, and is not picked up by my HAs, and incoming phone calls also go thru the car stereo, which is a Subaru thing I guess.

My question is, using the Bluetooth connection of the KS9s instead of MFI, will my phone/HAs continue to work as described above? I’m not completely sure how much of the above is due to MFI, and if using Bluetooth would force a change. I realize that phone calls would work a bit differently in that my voice would be picked up by the KS9s, not my phone. Are there any other differences?

My android and ks9’s work similar to above. I do have to go to the bluetooth app when leaving the car though. Bluetooth will affect you battery life but batteries are cheap. Not sure if mfi does the same? Try them if you don’t like them return them.
