Thank you all for responding to my question.
But hello all I am still loss!.. after gone through all of your comments.
My question is: when do I need to press the button? barely heard, hear clearly, or hear faintly, or hear loudly?
Again, the reason I asked “very specific” because I believed best hearing for hearing aid wearer is based on hearing test and that test is entered into audio-gram. if the hearing test is not as accurate as it should be then the audio-gram is wrong which turns into terrible results. It’s been 8 months. I visited 3 audi and they came with different tests (their results were not big of the different from each other but they do have different … I think it was because of me responding to the sound by pressing the button) and I have been programming myself too with Insitu feature in Gennie2. and my results were also different from those Audi. when I programmed myself, I stay in the closet so it was very quiet as the audi test room.
To make it short. in Gennie2 fitting software, it has target dashed line and computed optimum hearing graph line that was calculated from user’s audio-gram. Neither audio-grams from my 3 audi and myself program did work great at all. What I did was to increase/bring the prescribed graph line (computed optimum hearing line) above target line for frequency 500 to 2k in order for me to hear people talk.I don’t think what I did was correct because I can hear one on one conversation but I am completely unable to hear when there is group discussion… I know there is something is not right but I cannot tell where and what is wrong… please shed me some light.
I don’t think any of my Audi really understood what I have described to them … I did not tell them I did program my aids in Gennie2. Only things surprised them were their setting saving were changed whenever I visited them… I saw what Audi did to my aids were also trial and error. They increased some frequencies and decreased certain frequencies base on my complained then sent me home and comes back next two weeks… Please let me know what you think
thank you
