How to make pure analog on Phonak Naida V50 UP hearing aid from Phonak Target

Hello everybody. Is it possible if I add calm situation for single program only, linear, turn off all SoundRecover, NoiseBlock and put on Omni directional in order to have pure analog? So far I do hear natural and organic sound of life not sure if it’s right one. It’s kind of reminding me when I was young with analog hearing aid. I added undamp feature due to removal of white filter inside. I am on Target Gain 90% for now. Let me know what’s your thought on this and any feedback for me to make it pure analog. Thanks. :+1:

It’s pretty simple: you either tell the aid to act in a more linear fashion in the prerequisites or just let it default a gain setting, then go into the advanced gain adjustments and set the higher gain values the same as the G50 while winding up the to their maximum and turning the feedback manager off.

If you do this in a nominal music program, you’ll also inhibit a significant amount of the noise management and speech enhancement too.

You’ll have a nice linear sound and very loud sounds will be very loud. This will probably give you more feedback, auditory fatigue and may result in more long term damage to your hearing.

The only people who should be asking for a fully linear aid are those with a purely conductive loss. For everyone else it’s an impossible goal, due to recruitment. However there is merit in asking for an aid to be more linear in order to preserve normal loudness growth - apply judiciously

Seriously, I have spent many days, many hours, playing with the software, various settings and various combinations in order to get the aids to perform how I like them and sound just how I want them to, giving me what I personally consider natural sounds, sounds that I have been used to all my life. If the aids do any self-adjusting (compression) for me, believe me, I can hear it and I hate it!

This is a screenshot of the left ear MPO/Gains and if you look at the bottom, the CR shows 1 all the way. It’s my understanding that a Compression Ratio of 1 is no compression, or at least that’s what I was told. If there IS still any compression, it’s so minimal it doesn’t affect me.

On top of that, I also disable all the other automatic shite - SoundRecover, Noise/Wind Blocks etc. I’m used to hearing the natural sounds of the world just as our hearing counterparts hear it all and that, in my opinion, is how it should be.

I still don’t know whether you have a conductive or a sensorineural hearing loss. It is very important to differ these types. And by the way you should enter your . Somewhere else you already said that you have a severe to profound loss. In this case an analog aproach is only useful if you have a conductive loss. Otherwise you will definitely kill the rest of your ears.

@Dani, this is getting aging due to your common way of criticizing whoever made posts. I have been on Phonak Target since several years and I am 100% sure I am very well qualified to work on my Phonak Naida hearing aids. I hope this information is enough to satisfy you about my brief experience. Everyone do have a right to access it to work on their hearing aids as long as they have previous experience of tuning or have well training from someone. If I never have any issue from any type of damage or ruin on my ears coming from it for years, nothing for you should be worry about it. Trained monkeys probably can do this since they are not that dumb to make their ears worse then throw it away and start eating banana. Smile and good day. :smiley:

What the henk are you talking about? The only information I have from you is what you write, nothing else. You are the one who seeks for help so please be more polite and tell more about your background. I didn’t know that you are familiar with target for several years. But to be honest: I don’t believe it at all. You are writing too much stupidity conerning programming .

@Dani, To clarity your message, it’s called learning experience. It doesn’t matter if we are genius or not. All audiologists, students and clients always still and will learn from something new everyday. We are all students of new technology everyday. This Hearing Tracker forum gives everyone a chance to get experience, feedback and education on their hearing aids like how to improve their need for hearing and of course to speak well daily. Without Hearing Tracker forum for this help, I would never have a chance for my need of using my hearing aids. With this, it saves my life and give me great opportunity to have better communication daily. Please keep it as professional and avoid any type of unnecessary and foul language here.
