Even with the virus going on we still are up on the upcoming hearing aids.

I’m going to Audi in the morning, definitely going to get her opinion on them.
I think a few in this thread are already using them. I would like to hear more thoughts on the MOMENT

I have 6 year old Sonic Flip 60 hearing aids. Just to check on natural sound I took my hearing aids off and listened to a commercial on TV. The voices were dull. I put my aids back on and it was brighter and crisper but I would have to say it was natural. I tried hearing aids on a couple of months ago and the sounds that I got were not What I would call natural. So maybe I am more blessed than I thought. I do have problems in group discussions and in restaurants. I was thinking with new aids i could eliminate that. We have started a group chat in the halls of our apartments just to visit. I no longer want to attend because I cannot hear. Maybe what I have is only volume. Our brains are so marvelous that they adapt quickly.

Hi All, so I got the Moment last friday as expected ![]()
Here is a picture for you, the model as you can see is MRR2D and they came, to my and audi surprise (and bit of disappointment), with M receivers. Should have been Power receivers…which will arrive next week.
Due to the M receivers being too small we haven’t been able to use my earmolds and proceeded with the fitting using the M receivers and double tips, that provide with best occlusion (not that I like it…) to prevent feedback (see my steep ski slope loss).
Model I chose is the rechargeable , which came with a compact and easy to use charger: just drop in the aids and they’ll start to charge. Notwithstanding my loss, probably due also to the M power receivers and small time streaming, I never got past the 60% discharge level (meaning that at bed time I always had more than 40% charge still remaining).
Once done the fitting and choosing programs, I got also the TV-Play and Call-Dex and went away.
First impression: notwithstanding the M receivers, sound both in and out of audi premises was clear and natural (as per my perception, clearly…
), but still I felt something was missing. This is most probably due to the M receivers missing to provide the correct amplification but I need to say that also my exostosis are a factor at play and sometimes I struggle with getting the correct insertion: possibly the Power receivers and the custom earmolds will do the trick (but I also know that sooner than later I will need to get rid of those exostosis, meh…
).
Previously I tested the Evokes (with Power receivers) and can say that there’s a slight difference both in sound and delay, where I feel Moments are better. Along these days I appreciated the natural sound and almost imperceptible delay while watching the news and movies. Still, with the Evokes and power receivers I could hear more and better, so I’m looking forward to see what will happen when I’ll get the power receivers fro the Moments next week.
Unfortunately not much to tell about the TV-Play and Call-Dex as I couldn’t get to pair it to the aids.
Call-dex was registered on Compass at fitting time and should be already paired, but it didn’t work. Note that I want to use it with my laptop as I have an iPhone 11 and the aids work well with the phone.
TV-Play was paired with the Evokes I tested so I reset it and then restarted the aids for pairing, but it wouldn’t pair (always white light instead of blue intermitting): my audi got support from widex and when I’ll get the P receivers he will update the TV-play firmware too.
I stop here for now but if you have any questions I will be happy to answer (if I can
)
See you next week, ciao

Hey there, I have the Moments as well and previously had TV PLAY connected to Evokes. I found out that the Moments are not yet compatible with TV PLAY but should be by fall this year. I just got a COM-DEX in attempts to use a Bluetooth stethoscope to stream to my aides. COM-DEX works fine with the Moments for streaming but still working out some kinks in the stethoscope streaming. Right now I have it working fairly well. Today instead of using the CD to stream I’m going to try bone conduction headset.

Custom tips took my son from 90% speech recognition with Evoke F2 440’s to 100% and I am sure with the receivers it will be a very positive difference for you. We can stream from laptop using M-Dex which is the streamer. We got a different wire to connect it to the laptop and both hear direct streaming without it being paired to me (I have custom Evokes). Really good to hear your update!

Hi, I had Widex Evokes before. I loved those things except I ate up batteries every 3-5 days. But when I got these and picked the PureSound program it really was amazing! Very natural sounding and everything just sounds louder and more defined. Can’t really quite explain it. I find myself having to decrease the volume because I’m hearing sounds I haven’t heard before. I hear new sounds my Jeep is making and first thought my Jeep was messed up then realized I’m just hearing the engine and trans sounds very differently. I just got these back from my audiologist who adjusted the programming and I love them even more!

I would very much like to see your . Would you consider adding it by clicking on the menu item “Forum” and choosing “My Hearing Tests”?

That’s encouraging, I’m going this afternoon to be fitted for the Moments. I won’t be able to compare them with anything (other than Bose hearphones, which are NOT hearing aids) since this is my first .

@tim4 So I had the whole Miracle Ear Aids Back in the day and hated them and just stopped wearing anything for years. Then not even 6 mos ago I got the Widex Evokes and was amazed by the difference in sound quality from my only other experience. Immediately loved them and then being able to stream calls and music is simply awesome! So just be grateful you never spent any money on the poor quality hardware that has preceded these! I can’t imagine you won’t love them.

Hey TGary, so I was just looking at that today! Let me see if I can get that from my audi and will be glad to post it. I have some mod loss in upper freq but still hear lower freq.

Sounds similar to my loss. You can see mine by clicking on my avatar face. I’ll look forward to seeing if we are close. As a classical pianist I’ve been considering the newest Widex. The sound of my concert grand piano is my primary concern.

I was told Widex is the best for musicians…I play the organ and the flute. I’m waiting until Summer next year for a change in mine. Hopefully it will be the Widex Moments!

Combing through the Widex site I only find glowing advertising claims. I’m finding nothing in the way of specs. I’m not even finding if the Moment works with Android phones. My audiologist told me in January that the new Widex introductions would support Android.

Says they support both iOS and Android.

Thanks for the link, but the only support for Android appears to be for the App. There appears to be no support for Android Bluetooth streaming connectivity.
