Should telecoil appear in myPhonak programs?

So, last week I got new Phonak Marvel 90R-T aids from the , and haven’t figured out how to test the . Looking in the MyPhonak app at my programs, I don’t see anything that looks like telecoil related. I assume the “Phone Call + mic” is for Bluetooth calls. Is that correct?
I don’t really go anywhere there’s , so the tcoil may not matter for that, but I’d really like to have it work for our landline phones.
The VA audiologist said she’d put me on the list for the Paradise aids when she’s able to order them, after November 1st, and I’m guessing they will work the same.

@akillenb Your audiologist needs to set up a program for you. They will not automatically show up 'out of the box’s.

My Kirkland 9-Ts, which are similar to the Marvels and now use the same MyPhonak app show the setting as “Public + mic.” Perhaps that setting hasn’t been selected by your audiologist.

As a practical matter, I haven’t had the opportunity to check out the feature–still awaiting a visit to a location that has a public T-coil installation

Thank you both. I’ll definitely push a little more when I have my return visit, to enable or program the tcoils. I’m new to Phonak, having had 3 different Oticon aids before this.

I got Phonak Marvels from a little over a year ago. On first follow up appointment, I ask Audi if my T coil/s were activated and she said they weren’t. After a discussion we decided to not activate them since T coil would be rarely if ever used. If you have VA activate T coil you also need to check your landline phone to be sure it is compatible and supports the T coil in your hearing aids. You can check the M/T rating of your landline to see how well they work with T coil hearing aids (ie M4 T4). Ideally should be 4 for best compatibility and performance.

While I don’t expect to be in any venue with a , I’ve had quite a hard time dealing with landline phones the last several years. This is the first set of aids I’ve had with tcoils, and I’d really like to be able to at least test if they help with the landline phones we have. I haven’t been able to find t rating specs on our landline phones, but they all claim to be hearing aid compatible.

“ Phones receive an M-rating for their compatibility with acoustic hearing aids. The rating scale is M1 to M4, with M4 indicating the highest level of compatibility and the best signal. For compatibility with hearing aids, phones receive a T-rating, from T1 to T4, with T4 being the best. To determine whether a phone is likely to work well with a particular hearing aid, add the rating of the hearing aid to the rating of the phone. A sum of four indicates the phone is usable, five indicates normal use, and six or greater indicates the phone provides excellent performance for hearing aid users.”
My iPhone is rated M3/T4 for example.
