Transfer settings from one pair of hearing aids to another

Is there a way in target to reuse same fitting of one ha to another exact ha. Audi says no! And this pair is overwhelming. The s is so loud. Ppl soind like in a box except for the s sounds. I want the same setting as the other pair.

I changed pairs to get tcoil. Im going back on 27 nov. Is there a way. Maybe she does not know about it. Thanks

Caveat: you can move the prescription but there’s a couple of issues.

  1. The sensitivity of the parts in the second aid might be newer/better.
  2. The Feedback Manager will not be correct given #1 above, or the SW might even not upload it to the new aid.

The best way of doing this would be to before and after with known signal or use a coupler like they would with a very small child.

Oh well. I just called costco. They already returned them.
The rem test done on the old pair would still be in the target file im guessing. She did set them up as close as possible to the other pair.

Maybe this pair sounds different with same setting

Should i ask her to just redo a brand new fitting from scratch using only my hearing test?

Sounds are loud, yet the actual letters are muffled and ppl sound in a box except for the s and ch. Those are overwhelming. I have it on the lowest volume right now but struggle to hear on any volume. Either too low or too muffled.

When I went from my OPN1 to my OPNS1 aids my Audi did transfer my fitting, but then he adjusted for the differences, in receiver power and changes. It had taken 12 appointments and adjustments to get my OPN1 aids to work for me, and so far the the first appointment settings for my OPNS1 aids have been all that I needed. That is kind of amazing to me seeing I went from the OPN1 aids being aids with 85 receivers to my OPNS1 MiniRite aids with 100 receivers and custom ear molds.

Any transfer isn’t exact, unfortunately. That’s the part I’ve hated the most when trialling ‘same aid’ in different forms (eg comparing 70 to 90, getting tcoil, r vs battery).

Also, keep in mind, that transfer means gain curves (I always had several db of difference, but it wasn’t same on each, eg just lowereing all wasn’t the solution), but options don’t transfer. So thay have to be manually changed, eg more/less of noise cancelling than default, soft sounds, wind block and whatnot.

That is saved in target, but target doesn’t allow to open simultaneously two setups to compare them. Screenshots could work. But you need bunch of them. Maybe better to make video on phone going through old settings and then play/pause when checking new settings.

My solution is that I run target in virtualbox anyway, so I just cloned that virtual machine and I run 2 to 3 in parallel, depending how many setups I want to compare. :joy: But dispensers don’t have such ability usually.

I lost one of my ReSound aids while removing facemask. Got a new one with factory defaults and had no problems restoring a backup. The Aventa fitting software did suggest rerunning the digital feedback suppression (DFS) test though, and so I did.

Tcoil makes ReSound aids bigger, so I prefer to have the tcoil in external accessory (in ReSound case: MultiMic).
