What color did you choose and why?

let me know if you find some that fit well. I went with silver because (no offense to anyone here) the tan/“nude” colors looks too medical-y to me and I wanted something that looked clean and modern. I would have gone with a bright blue if they had it… or maybe a Eddie Van Halen special edition red/black/white!

I went with Oticon’s Chestnut Brown because the plastic looks like polished rosewood once it gets a bit of ear flap grease into it.

I am generally conservative with my color choices, though, with my first , I was hoping for a more out-there color. A blue would have been incredible. Though since I went with KS10s, I chose silver after narrowing between silver and black. At times I wish I would have gone with black, but as others have stated, the silver stands out if you sit them down or they fall out of your ears when taking off a mask.

@Zebras: Thanks for this information. I’m woefully ignorant of this stuff, I’ll have to look it up and do some ciphering on it.
[ I’ve come up with a few of the links you’ve posted on this subject. Was only vaguely aware there was a less intrusive alternative to a cocqular implant.]

There are less invasive bone conduction hearing aids - but they don’t do what a does. They help with middle ear issues (like a ). I have tried nonsurgical Adhear and SoundArc and Ponto on a hardband while waiting for this Osia implant.

Yes, you win the prize.
I have holes in my semicircular canals that allow the sound to ‘escape’ before hitting the cochlea. Osia are also used for Single Sided Deafness.

@sholk: If those things become common and Silicone Valley catches on, Apple will put out an all-in-one “iBorg” unit with cameras, phone, GPS, maps, radar - you name it. You will look so Koo-well!

Honestly, it makes me think of a combination of those old hearing aids that were based on glasses, and the google “glass” product which had the camera and display in the glasses frames. A little more product integration, a little surgical implantation, and we are getting pretty close!

Silver for my Marvel’s because my wife said that it matches my hair color.

I chose graphite Grey for my paradise, just so they would be different.

while waiting for this Osia implant.
So PLEASE pardon my ignorance: is this Osia implant a full-blown cocqular implant or something different. I’ve seen the images, and the thing looks different from the other makes, somehow (but this could just be evidence of my lack of familiarity).

is this Osia implant a full-blown cocqular implant
No. A is for inner ear deafness. A Osia Implant is for middle ear deafness, altho I believe can also cope with a small amount of inner ear deafness as well.
