What color did you choose and why?

My last pair were sort of flesh/tan. The latest are what I believe is called champagne. I told the Audiologist I didn’t care what color they were. I often lift one up to show people I am wearing aids, but it doesn’t make them speak any clearer. I have had people who have been around me for a while seem surprised that I was even wearing aids. Most people aren’t observant at all.

My first pair were black & silver two tone. My current pair are graphite - two tone was not an option. I have a buzz cut, so there is no hiding them. If I went in the ear, I would want a clear case to show off the insides.

I went with black. They semi-match the frames of my glasses, but was not concerned with hiding them. Just figured they would look better than the bandaid colored ones.

“CadaverCaramel®️
LOVE the name!!!
I always had grey, or black to match my hair and glasses until my latest aids…
My Audi commented that my black colored ’s were too dark and asked which color I wanted. I asked for grey, she walked behind me touched the hair around my ears and said I didn’t have enough hair for grey aids so she’s ordering flesh color, which is the aforementioned CadaverCaramel®️
I prefer red or even red-white-n-blue if possible, but only if the shell of the aids are manufactured in those colors. I don’t want something applied to the outside of my aids.

I think if I we’re getting them today I’d go with black. I shave everything on my head except eyebrows most days. But I’m not hiding anything on my ears…

If I shaved my head, I’d have tats of an ugly insect’s head boring into my skull inked to match up with the bodies of my .

I wore red for some 10 years. No one ever commented, tho I expected them too–and I wanted to have talks about being . Now I’m wearing a very visible, wired, ‘hearable’. People must think I’m listening to music or podcasts, b/c no one gives me any kind of “what’s with you?” look–just converse as normal. And I talk to a lot of strangers in daily life.

I’m surprised how many people I interact with, mostly at work, that don’t notice my aids (silver aids w/grey hair). Some I have worked with for years and I will mention my aids and they are surprised and do a double take and say, “I never noticed before”. I always assumed everyone noticed.

Phonak Champagne here, not because I wished to conceal them, it just looked a suitable colour that blended in. Same effect as concealing but not how I would have said that was what I was doing.
There are one or two people in my club who are demonstrably hard of hearing Despite! wearing aids.

Phonak Paradise in Black.
Really not keen on all the other colour options.
And black goes with everything.

I might choose that if I was doing it again today. I got champagne. Because I told the audiologist I didn’t care, pick one for me. They all looked boring.

The only people who notice someone is wearing hearing aids are those who wear hearing aids. I’m convinced I could wear grapefruits behind my ears and nobody would notice.
