KS-10 Bluetooth Problem

I have a question about the KS-10 blue-tooth connection problem I am having.

My understanding is there is one Regular BT connection which is connected to one of the HA’s, and there are two other LE BT (low energy) connections that get created when the easy line app is paired with the phone, and I can see these three connections on my phone, so far so good.

The HAP furnished four programs, Automatic, Restaurant, Music and TV. The problem is, if I create a new program by modifying one of the provided programs and press the save button, I can then provide a new name and it seems I have created a new program. The problem is I cannot save the completed program if the Regular BT is connected at the same time as the LE BT’s which are required to use the easy line app. However if I first go to my BT settings before opening the app and disconnect the regular BT the save or modify works as expected.

I would like for someone to see if when the app is connected if the regular BT is also connected. It seems to me that if other users have all three BT’s connected there is something wrong with my HA’s

I love the KS-10’s but I should not have to manually turn off the Regular BT before I can create, save or update programs.

Thanks for that, yes I think the issue is with my phone. I have tried it on iPhones 8 and and 12, running the same iOS and the app worked fine on both.

I believe the culprit was the Kirkland Signature Navigator app that I originally downloaded and tried to pair with my hearing aids. I was not given any information which app to use with my KS-10’s. When I tried to pair with the Kirkland app the app crashed out to the desktop. I called the Phonak help line and was told that the Kirkland app was replaced with the Easy Line app for KS-10.

I installed the Easy Line app and had [mismatch] errors, this is when I noticed that the two LE bluetooth connections had the same name LE_L and LE_L. I called Costco HAS and he told me that they came that way from Phonak. I called Phonak again and was told they should be named R and L and asked me to go back to Costco to have the HAS change the names and to call them for direction, which he did.

So bottom line; the problem still exists and if I want to save and create my own tweaks I need to use my workaround.

Can you let me know how your two LE bluetooth connections are named?

How they are named does not matter. One could be called fred the other roger, You have the three required connections, you know this by seeing the three connections in your image. The name is just a friendly so “you” know what they are - in bluetooth they have a network address that the program app uses, so it should not matter what you see them named in your list, as long as they are connected. Your save issue should not have anything to do with the naming in your bluetooth list. That is most likely going to be a bluetooth to the app issue. If streaming and other aspects are working, your connections are fine.That you found a workaround is great, but I think the assumption on the workaround outcome is incorrect. Just my two cents. Try an android phone and save. That workaround fix my issue on my iphone with the profile not saving and has worked correctly since once I had one custom program I saved on android.

Thanks for all the feedback. I’m only “reporting” what I’ve been told DIRECTLY from Sonoma via an email from them to me. I was having issues with the K10 purchased at Costco. Went to Phonak for help since I thought my K10 was same as Paradise. Couldn’t get a direct answer that made any sense. Then went directly to Sonoma. Finally got an email that K10 was not the same as Paradise. There are programming differences I was told, and, told although I had ability for one of the Roger accessories, that “it” had to be turned on and that was not something Costco could do; was told I had to go to an “outside” audiologiest who could “turn it on” but then Costco could not troubleshoot anything Roger. That, of course, to me meant more $$$ because an “outside” audiologist would not be open to doing anything with aids bought at Costco without charging tons of money, if even then. Haven’t though looked further into that angle. But just need to say this is all information sent to me directly from “top” at Sonoma! If they don’t want to admit to K10 being same as Paradise, maybe that’s so. Just “reporting” my experience for what it’s worth.
