HI all,
I have profound loss of mid-hifreq. been a slow and continue loss. I started 17 years ago with Phonak, later changed to Kirkman ks-10, and now it is time to change again.
My word comprehesion was about 50% and the current batteries do not get me through the day. thus my main goal is to hopefully improve comprehension and have aids that make it through the day. I figured it was not worth the money to repair my ks-10
Trying to be smart with Money I have been looking at Costco, Because of where I live I have a long drive to any options I would choose, (3 hours each way) My quick research says that the Jabra 30's might be best for me. But after hearing test the guy said absolutely not. He recommended the sennheiser. which is basically a variation of the Phonak.
More research says they my offer very minor improvement over the ks-10 as the are newer and and there is slight improvements but don't expect much.
So the debate is do I go with the Sennheiser or tell the guy I know what you said but I want to try the Jabra. Keep in mind a quick trial of Jabra would be with generic Silicon molds as opposed to my custom molds which fit the Sennheiser. Music and such are not on high priority but rather voice understanding and noisy environments are on top of list.
So anybody have real world experience in 2 brands or similar issues with a much better solution?
