Phillips 9030 purchase questions

Am considering purchase of the 9030 at Costco. Have four questions : 1. Can l operate hands free with my cell phone from the hearing aids? Is there a microphone contained in the 9030? My iPhone would be in my backpack.
2. Which battery would be preferred, built-in or throwaway?
3. What is the warranty from Costco, 5 years?
4. What could be the cost of replacing the built-in battery?

It has hands free. You can answer with the buttons on the hearing aid, the mic is available for use, but the sound quality to the hearer on the other end is terrible. My answer assumes that you are using your iPhone. I prefer to use the iPhone mic because it sounds better on the other end. If you stream much the battery life on one charge for the rechargeables will usually get you through the day with a few % to spare.

Thanks for replying. I didn’t find specific answers to the Bluetooth to cell phone connect ability on the Costco linked Phillips website.
I did send an email to Phillips but am still waiting for an answer.

OK. I presently am using since 2014 a Rexton Quinta BG. The rechargeable battery only lasted one year, so I’ve been using the throwaway batteries from which I get 3-4 days of use. (At the time a replacement rechargeable battery was rather expensive)
Should I expect an even shorter life from a throwaway battery if Bluetooth is activated on my iPhone?
(Not necessarily communicating but in standby to receive calls?)
Per your experience, you say you receive calls clearly, but your speaking thru the 9030 hearing aid is not very good quality?
Do you feel that the 9030 has any better feature/audio quality compared to older ’s, ie. In my case replacing my 2014 Rexton with a 2022 Phillips 9030?

Yes there’s no doubt between these two platforms, but by how much? well only you’ll know for sure, get the trial period from Costco to satisfy yourself, as your a iPhone user you’ll certainly notice the difference here, I mean you could look at the difference in technology in PC and mobile devices over this time and you’ll see it’s worth the trial at least.

Yes, with iPhone the 9030 can do hands-free calls. The warranty is 3 years and two years for loss or damage. The Costco I went to didn’t have the option of battery or rechargeable. Only rechargeable. I don’t know how much it would cost to replace the charger but presumably it too is covered by the warranty. After that time period, I’d like to know too.

The only 9030 they offered me was rechargeable. No one at Costco said anything about a replaceable batteries option, so I don’t know the answer to your question. The Philips brochure shows a 9030 version that isn’t rechargeable.

Maybe just out of stock, because now they sell so many more, with Phonak being out of the picture.

Costco hearing aid technician said he could order the non-rechargeable 9030. Delivery to Costco in 5-7 days.
Also it appears that the replaceable battery is a “13” which is much thicker, providing more capacity and therefor a longer life.

The warranty is 3 years for the 9030 I bought. To replace rechargeable batteries is $130 per battery outside the warranty period. Make sure you go back a few months before the warranty ends and have them check the batteries.

For my KS8 my Costco recommended they lend me some aids and send mine in to Rexton before the warranty expired to make sure there were no hardware issues.
