They offer a 45 money back trial. I would be meeting an unknown audiologist. Not sure what to think….

I did use them and they hooked me up with my local who participates with them. They’re basically a middle man who hook you up with a local audi who will sell you hearing aids for a pre-determined price (as priced out by Hear.com21) and the local HCP will also provide you with the local service for the hearing aids, then Hear.com takes a cut from that transaction. Technically your transaction is with Hear.com and not with the local audi, however. The 45 day money back trial is not that much different than what the industry offers (between 30-45 days usually), except for the 180 days from Costco.

I ended up doing a direct purchase from that local HCP that I came to know through Hear.com because Hear.com could not meet the discount that a local in-network HCP for my health insurance can give me, but the local HCP associated with Hear.com was able to match that price outside of the Hear.com connection.

As far as I can tell, it’s not Hear.com7 who can get the latest model for you. It depends on the local whom they hook you up with, whether that local HCP can get the latest models for you or not. Usually they can as long as they’re an authorized HCP for the particular mfgs that they associate with. It’s probably more of a question of whether they’re familiar with the particular brand/model that you’re interested in and want to push and service that brand/model for you or not.

If that HCP cannot get you the latest specific brand/model you’re looking for, you can always ask Hear.com to find another local HCP who can get it for you. You may have to travel a little further for the second HCP because Hear.com probably would hook you up with the nearest HCP based on your address first.

Well blow me down with a feather, awesome to actually have a customer representative on the forum, now let’s see if we can get the others to join up

No i doubt it, Horizon is an oddball version so it’s most likely they are locked, but maybe just software locked, as in getting the correct version of software gets you in to program without a code.

In reply to @hear.com

If I purchase a pair of your Horizon hearing aids, is it possible to program them with standard Connexx software? Are they locked? Asking as while I know you do virtual fittings after purchase, I am tech savvy and am capable of fine tuning on my own.

Hello,

While the Connexx software is not commonly used on personal devices/ given to customers, it is not locked. If you purchase a pair of our Horizon hearing aids, we would still encourage you to be fit and have adjustments made by one of our providers.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

All the best! -Sami, Customer Success Team

Are you saying that you are a hearing aid manufacturer? Or does an existing manufacturer make hearing aids for you to your specifications? What technology do you use which is “the newest in hearing aid technology”?

Hello Billgem,

Thank you for your inquiry! Our Horizon hearing aids are manufactured by Signia, one of the leading manufacturers in hearing care. We have developed this hearing aid to be the latest in hearing aid technology by offering a unique dual-processor approach for our AX platform of devices that assists with processing speech and noise in harder environments.

Thats not true, it was "developed " and designed by WS Audiology, you guys don’t make or design anything in this regard, nice tho.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. Please know that hear.com2 is part of the WSA family. Our Horizon hearing aids have some additional features that are only available with the Horizon product line. This was actually co-developed by hear.com and WSA engineers. If you would like to learn more about our Horizon hearing aids, please visit our website. I have included the link below.
