Danalogic ambio faulty

Is it just me. Danalogic gn ambio faulty I’ve had 5 pairs now and each time they have a problem with the sound is this a common fault .what could be causing it ,one pair I had the same day problems started
getting so frustrated as NHS Just Don’t Know Why this is happening .could it be static ,I have been wearing hearing aids for over 20 years and and never had problems with them till I got these make.

Danalogic are cheap remakes of Resound . My mum had Danalogic and constantly has problems with them. I have Oticon engage and if I was ever offered Danalogic I would decline.

I have danalogic ambio 77 and just have problem after problem with them. Static is horrible, I have gone back countless times to get them adjusted but nothing works. I am saving every month for private hearing aids and unfortunately had to use the money to fix my house rendering so back to the grind! Are you able to afford to pay private?

I have had the Danologic S 77 now for the last couple of weeks after not being able to reliably connect into phone / computer with Bluetooth on a pair of Phonak aids. These Ambio’s do connect to my phone via Bluetooth after changing some settings to allow audio to each aid (cannot get computer to stream, connects and allows pairing but unable to see in device settings).
I do however have a noise problem which I would probably describe as static, i.e. crackling and popping at a low level. However this only occurs when I am in my car (not just my car) so I can only assume that this is interference from the cars electrical system. I can only suggest the aids are not very well shielded. It may be worth just trying your hearing aids in different location.
I hope that helps, these aids are NHS ones, another issue I have is the fitting and it is difficult to get follow up appointments now since Covid, there are no drop in services by the NHS any more in my area.

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of their issues?

My wife has been issued a Ambio 67 and she’s having an awful time with cackling noises and static.

Been adjusted a few times and still not much better.

Endless problems with Ambio 77 for 2 years, buzzing, feedback, interference while in car, until this past week. NHS audiologist told me they had not been setup correctly, I was little sceptical, but after a full hearing test and , they are significantly improved. No feedback, buzzing, or interference.

He changed the tubing and domes, which they would normally do anyway. I must have been back to them 5 or 6 times, seeing different members of staff with my problems, nothing ever helped, until last Tuesday. Now my hearing has improved, plus, no more of the other nasties.

Either these aids are very sensitive to certain frequencies in our loss or it was something in the tuning that wasn’t right to begin with.

Did your hearing change much in your new hearing test?

I thought my hearing had really deteriorated since my previous test 2 years ago. The audiologist assured me that there was minimal change. When I first received the aids I was happy with them, they were setup using the prescription of my first aids, Danalogic 71’s, which I received in 2016. I was called back a couple of months later for a 3 year hearing evaluation, because of Covid it was 5 years. Then something changed in my prescription, that’s when my problems started.

I’ve got the Ambio S 98 Danalogics in both ears, right aid has been sounding a roaring wind like noise on and off ever since, if you gentlely touch or press the elbow it goes away briefly but always returns. I complained originally when given it and sent it in by mail twice asking for a repair or replace, each time they returned it saying there “…was nothing wrong with it”, you can clearly hear the noise holding it up in front of you!. The constantly being fobbed off by the NHS techs is unbelievable, I need both my aids to do my job!.

I think you need to speak your NHS audiologist. How difficult is it to get an appointment? I had a problem with one of my aids, first I was told it was fine which it was not. Second time they said it was faulty and replaced it. They really should accept your complaint and replace yours.

It also works ok using the bemore app on my fire tablet in as far as i can use the app to switch between normal mode and loop mode ok. In the tablet systems setting it has also got to hearing aids connected but no tablet generated sound comes through. In win11 having gone through add device it also lists the hearing aids.but then says ‘not conected’. So Danalogic whats going on…

Your Aids are Low Energy Bluetooth so only connect to iPad, iPhone and some Androids.

Hi Zebras. Interesting. I am a techie but obviously not techie enough., Is it a case of Bluetooth LE only works with Bluetooth LE despite the close proximity of Bluetooth & Bluetooth LE? If thats the case then it sounds like I need to replace my Bluetooth dongle for an LE one and then perhaps it would work on windows. Does seem a bit daft though. You would have thought that hearing aids would work with more things. It does get listed on my phone but doesn’t pass the sound through…

If you get a LE Bluetooth dongle then yes. I’m not sure they exist.

Don’t get confused by as that won’t work.

LE Bluetooth is not equal to or or LEA ()

There are no commercial Bluetooth dongles available which supporting MFi or ASHA protocol.

Only the following solution may work for windows devices , if your Aids supporting ASHA protocol (via LE Bluetooth).

No Bluetooth dongle for Apple proprietary MFi protocol (over LE Bluetooth) available on the market. In that case you would need to buy a Apple Notebook or other Apple devices.

Hi Zebras. I now do have a USB Bluetooth LE dongle but I haven’t tried it as it seems to me it is a red herring and never even heard of this protocol. The thing is in both the Win11 and Andriod cases there is a connection between each and my AMBIO hearing aids. It the case of Andriod the Bemore App does allow control of the hearing aids modes between normal (Ie non loop) and loop modes, volume up & down and microphone on/off. So in thaat case the Bluetooth is obviously working. The problem seems to be with what it calls ‘streaming’ modes where the hearing aid can hear the phone calls/music and any other audio. Its a little different for Win11. Again the Bluetooth is obviosly connecting since it does say the ‘pairing’ has happened but again the problem is that no audio gets through. I know Bluetooth LE is meant to connect a pair of close up devices but if they ‘pair’ then surely the audio should get through too.
