Welcome to the forum, great your giving a go, you’ll need the correct programming device for those Own, so no Bluetooth right on those Own? You’ll need HiPro and CS44 cables and programming pill size 10 (for a size 10 battery)

Hi there, yeah it’s a good idea to have a backup on a flash drive for just these types of situations, as you have everything else you’ll be up and running in no time.

Welcome to the forum, projects are a good way to help get set up how you like them, as you are doing this for someone else (your dad) please do your research and read the user guides before jumping in, although it’s pretty easy in most cases it’s also easy to make things worse.

Hi there, great your giving a go, be sure to do some research and read the user guides before starting, as these were released way back in 2009 or so programming device for the “Hit” models would be HiPro and cables, have you considered updating at a Costco wholesale in your area, premium models for around $1600.

Okay then, you could also look at used on eBay, some very good deals on late models, with the software and hardware could be a good a alternative.
