I haven’t sold the normal Table Mic. I took it down as completely forgot it was bank holiday and I normally want to dispatch in less than 2 days but with bank holiday, I can’t do that.

@kevels55 , I applaud your kindness and helping others although I’m not the one getting help directly. Keep it up
Since Turkish currency have gone downhill for at least two to five years, buying something from abroad has been very expensive.

Thank you @eyesgreendeaf, I appreciate the kind words… My mother, was a very religious woman, a very devout person, in the Catholic faith, she went to mass every day, and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, unlike me, I renounced my faith at the age of 12, I just told her one day, I wasn’t going back, she asked why, I said there was too much hypocrisy for my liking…She said, fair enough, and left it at that…She taught me many things, and I look back, with much gratitude, and a very deep fondness, for her teachings…This world would be a much better place, if we looked out for one and other, instead of conflict, we should reach out the hand of friendship, by helping each other, we help ourselves…And yes, we are all different, different religions, different colour, different outlook & different beliefs, but underneath that exterior, we are all the same…We just go or look at life from a different perspective, but our hearts are the same, our hopes are the same, and much of our aspirations are the same!!! My mother said to me one day “The hand that gives, is the hand that gets”… And to be truthful, at the time, I didn’t really understand, I was too young… It wasn’t until later in life, that I understood or tried too!
I think often of you guys & girls around the world, whom are much less fortunate than myself… Struggling with hearing loss, monetary constraints, access to decent health care… Putting food on the table, for some might be the main objective in life, and any hopes of a decent set of hearing aids, may be a pipe dream! I understand the sheer frustration, but I have no magic wand to right the injustices of this world, I can only empathize, which I do! Personally, its really only the last 5 or 6 years that I have got to grips with my hearing loss, its only now that I am able to afford decent hearing aid’s, that came about with the self realization, I was always going to get a poor service from the NHS, I got half decent aids, but they are of no use whatsoever for profound losses, if they are poorly fitted aids!!! That frustration is only exacerbated with learning, you are fully aware, things could be better, but the only way, is either , buy yourself, or perhaps both? I hope things improve for you… Cheers Kev.

Hello all! I have now had my Lumity Naida UP four weeks. I am happy, I can hear! Even birds song… swallows makes a nest in our wood shed. They warned each other when I was building artwork out of wood. I used saw and drill. They didn`t liked ill. I listened few minutes their trill. Awesome! Another thing I have found is the backside noise. My brother has a bageri and there is many baking units which makes terrible noise, e.g air condition, ovens and sclicers. Now I heard only peoples voice, no noise. It was surprise to me. I use autosense. Phonaks are very good investment. I have not taken off dampers yet. My Audi said that insurance is not any more…if you do that… so clarity is not the best yet, but much better than when I used trials. I had to lower the volume of aids initially, but now I use that volume audi set. Btw, there is summer now… two weeks ago was snow yet. Have a nice day!

HI
Ive been using the lumity naida for 2 weeks now, audiologist struggling to get the feedback sorted, but the suond doesnt seem natural like the resounds i have. struggle to understand people on the phone with these too.
my voice sounds hollow and i shout the sound sounds compressed.
music program sounds similar to resounds tho, but automatic isnt cutting it.
any ideas any one?

audiologist struggling to get the feedback sorted,
Yeah that’s gotta be sorted out to help get things sounding good to begin with, you don’t post your audogram but it’s most likely your using custom molds that are not fitted correctly, it’s a little bit of a worry why your audiologist can’t sort it for you, you may have to have them remade again to get a perfect fit and of course have your ears checked for wax build up as this can easily be overlooked.

Thank you Rick… A long read on this thread, but sometimes there isn’t any instant answers for profound loss… Not that I think, any of us, have all the answers, perhaps we have some? I can however vouch for the “Naida Lumity 90 UP ” they are indeed excellent aids for my loss, but that doesn’t mean they will be as effective for everyone’s profound loss! Personally, I have a distinct advantage, I am an excellent “Lip Reader” (I was told this by an NHS A.uD) and between the Naida’s & Lip Reading, I fill in the gaps, in most conversations, this ability to Lip Read, is extremely effective in loud noise, this is perhaps why, I am totally relaxed in noise nowadays, I can also sign in , if need be…If I am struggling with someone’s voice or accent, perhaps they have a heavy beard, I always carry a Roger Assistive Listening Device () on my person, for this eventuality, fortunately, I have a few of these… Cheers Kev

Kev I truly appreciate your posts.
(Update–my Phonak Audeo Paradise P90R’s are going back to Phonak to be checked out as my warranty is ending soon. So is my charger. My 2P receivers aren’t working out. I’m having trouble with the . Real trouble changing them. Good news–the new 5.0 receivers are available in Canda. An audi told me so. So I’ll be seeing my hearing instrument specialist tomorrow, Wednesday to take in my P90R’s. He’s going to program my 5 year old Phonaks so I may get by until my P90’s return. My hearing loss is so bad now that I’m virtually deaf without them.)
I figure I’m not a candidate for the Nadia ha’s yet. I’m following your posts just in case.

Thank you Dave… Looking at your loss, you would probably get away with Naida Lumity SP’s, with plenty of headroom
they would be within fitting range, no charging, and no to worry about… Speaking of which, I never ever had a problem with wax guards on the Marvels, out and in, took 10 seconds or so, but I am a fairly dexterous person, other folks might find it fiddly… Cheers Kev

I deleted it by mistake. I was trying to edit it. Not at all familiar with the format here. I will submit it again. Thank you!

Thanks Kev.
I think I’m on the right path. Except my Hearing Instrument Specialist has been told that he will get the 5.0 receivers in August. I guess he’s not a good Phonak customer.
I see him tomorrow. He’ll send my Paradise P90R’s away with my charger. Told him my batteries are no good. I trust Phonak will do the right thing. I have 2 years before workman’s comp will consider replacing my hearing aids. I want my batteries to last each day.
I’m grateful that I have that claim. Now my hearing aids are setup better, I hear better.
Oops…this just showed up on my screen.

Please get your thoughts and questions out to the forum. Lots of great help here. Sometimes a little blunt but trying to help.
Those aids you mentioned are really great aids but they need the right fitter to help you. Profound hearing losses can sure be tuff to fit.

Yes I will and I agree, it’s person doing the programing. The big problem, the audiologist I saw for over 15 years and the best one I’ve ever had was moved further away from during covid. That said I’ve never and I can’t even tell you exactly how long I’ve been wearing aids or how many pair I’ve had, I’ve never had this much trouble with programming, first programing then somtimes back once or twice to dial them in.

My A.uD is an absolute expert in Phonak aids, it’s all she has dealt with, in the last 6 or 7 years, prior to this she was an Audiologist with the NHS, predominantly fitting Phonak, amongst others… It is interesting to watch her work, everything is done at breakneck speed, perhaps a throwback from the NHS days, when fitting time was the enemy, and only 20 minutes allocated for each NHS fitting… My first fitting was the last fitting in November, she got it bang on, first time! No done! She asked how did that sound after running feedback management, I asked her to switch on compression, and swap to the NAL NL2 fitting formula, and we were good to go, my aids haven’t been altered since day 1… She did remark, in her experience, after first fit, she was amazed, how much people “Didn’t” request further tweaking, with the Lumity’s, it was a fairly common occurrence… Cheers Kev
Edit… Thinking about what I said above, I would say, I am most fortunate to have a highly skilled A.uD, whom is very competent with the Target Software, and she cares deeply about her clients, an excellent combination, I can’t praise this lady high enough…I am certainly blessed to have her! Cheers Kev

So I have had my Lumity P90 Trials for about 5 days now and so far, its positive.
A few things mentioned on this thread surprised me at first, but now find similar experience myself. Noise in the car was one I was not expecting. I often stream music or listen to a podcast from iPhone when driving. However, going at 50 mph or so, I was virtually unable to hear the podcast speaker even though phone volume up full due to noise of car. Never had this with my Oticon Opn S1’s.
I’m usually the driver when other people in car and have not had a problem hearing them but I’m less certain that will be the case with the Lumity’s.
Has anyone found a good solution to the Car noise issue?

I have Paradise P90R’s. From what I’ve seen here, I wish I had the hearing aids you have. Getting the hearing aids is one thing. Having them setup properly is another and is really key to being able to hear.
My experience: I had to find someone skilled to set mine up after I received them.
I don’t like the rechargeable batteries the dispensing audi chose without asking me. That’s a long story…they did resolve a serious problem I had. I couldn’t hear behind me at all with the previous hearing aids and that was unsafe at work.
So there are a lot changes that can be made by the dispensing audiologist or hearing aid specialist. They use Target which is software from Phonak.
Do you have the myPhonak APP on your phone? That’s the only way I can see what program my hearing aids are in.
Finally, my Hearing Instrument Specialist provided two reports from Target. My references are Target Pro Report and Target User Report. And the most important reference is the or hearing test report which you can post on this forum.

@mlsfurl While streaming you hear a mix of environment (the ’s microfone) and the streaming source. You can decrease the mic’s level by pressing the upper button on one of your aid.
