Redux Home Dryer

I don’t use BTE so possibly I’m not understanding something. Isn’t one way of removing moisture from the tubing to use a puffer by blowing out the open mold end? So in theory a dry enough environment should dry the tubing too through the same open mold end. That might not work if the moisture stays adhered to the tubing absent more forceful airflow (puffer) or heat or it seems you’re saying just more dry airflow such as by removing the earhook and using Redux?

I have removed the ear hook and used warm air to the BTE earmold tubing and put it in the Redux dryer a few times and some water moisture was still in the middle of the tubing. I couldn’t remove the ear hook from the tubing because the tubing is too hard so it was time to go to a hearing aid center to replace the tubing. They told me that tubing needs to be changed every 6 months. I have the tools for the tubing but l don’t buy the tubing in eBay because it’s too expensive for earmold tubing. Approximately $18 dollars for 20 pieces of earmold tubing. $10 for just six pieces of tubing.
I go to only one hearing aid center place where l get the earmold tubing replaced for free.

Tubing will be harder to remove if it is very hard. As long as you are careful unscrewing the ear hook, the hearing aid dryer can remove the moisture in the hearing aid receiver opening.

The HA’s in the picture uses a small pin - need special tools. Phonak HA’s - just unscrew it and makes cleaning easier.

There are other BTE aids different brands that have the screw in earhook. The aid in the picture posted looks like the ear hook can be removed.

Yes by pushing a pin out and taking the ear hook off that way. Not recommend to do every night otherwise the pin might get lost!!

That’s ridiculous to remove a pin in order to remove the ear hook. I never had hearing aid like that. It’s not worth the trouble to remove a pin to remove a ear hook. Stupid design.

Were you ever able to get water readout percentage on redux home? I still can see it on mine.

No l have the non-bluetooth version. They wanted $200 to upgrade to the Bluetooth version.

I bought the non-Bluetooth within 30 days of the update, so they let me trade in for the bluetooth free. The readouts aren’t too informative nor accurate. I would not recommend upgrading.

Do the domes have to go inside the little holders or is that a cosmetic touch? They work great for me. Had hearing aids for years never knew I needed anything. Big difference.
