Are CS44 cables and pills electrically passive?

I’ve just realised that the “size 13” Phonax cable I’ve ordered due to apparent lack of availability of a CS44+pill combo in UK is probably not out-of-the-box use with my Siemens which has two contacts at the back of the battery compartment.

  1. I may need to do the pin3+4 swap at the end that plugs into the HiPro.
  2. I have yet to receive it to check, but the battery pill end may be a physical fit to the HA compartment while not lining up electrically.

I can probably fix up both those snags if they are only mechanical. But are the CS44, pill and Phonax cables all straight through conductive cables with no active components along the way that will prevent an effective connection?

Yeah you’ll need the CS44, the Phonak are CS44A, people have done the swap around on the cables before, one would think you could with the pill connector as well, yeah a bit of a hassle for this HiPro configuration, the swap would be pins 3 and 4 I believe, the cables are straight through.

I’ll wait for the Phonax cable to arrive to see if the contacts in the battery compartment align or need some re-jigging. If they do need altering I can probably handle the net effect of 3+4 swap by only making changes on the pill end, rather than adjusting both ends. If the pill end contacts do align I’ll adjust the mini-DIN end only.

I’ll do pictures if I do anything novel :smiley:.
