My thoughts to, the app also does not give an accurate reading as it says 60% when the battery is actually dead.
Have an appointment Tuesday so will again ask to replace the hearing aid.

Where in Wales that offered a demo ? I live in Wales and desparately looking for a best HA for my needs. Gordon Morris suggested Phonak Sphere as I have number of issues with Roger on connecting to my current HA (funded by NHS) Danalogic Ambio6 98.

We do. Ask in your local independent for demos of the main ranges they sell. Or if you fancy coming to Carmarthen, I’ll sort it for you.

I have not read through all 800 posts …
Are the Sphere model identified in the model number on the aids … different from the non sphere .

I just posted…setup program HL3 has just been issued. Turns out the old program HL2 was 15 years old. I’m happy they have a new version. I’m discouraged I didn’t know that HL2 was so old because my Paradise P90R’s were set up with HL2 until a couple of months ago.
Could this be a reason why so many of us have problems understanding speech in noisy environments?
And–on topic–Jordan what program was used to set up your old Lumity and new Sphere Infinio?
I’ve quoted a lot of the text from this site in an introduction to HL3.

what is the labeling on the aids themselves, usually a number on the under side of the aids
Just has the serial number and then “I90”.

Btw…We attended another movie at the theatre last night. This was a very large theatre and we were located halfway back. The movie was mostly talking and I did note that the Sphere mode kicked on a few times. Mostly because the volume was loud in the theatre.
I had ZERO issues understanding the talking throughout the entire movie and I left the hearing aids in the automatic program the whole time. When the Sphere mode was on, speech was crystal clear. Almost crisp sounding.
Another success for Sphere! Just sharing.

Swiss Chalet Test Paradise P90R’s
Last night we went to a newly renovated Swiss Chalet in Oakville. Upper Middle Rd. It’s much nicer than it used to be. Even had a Robot dispensing meals, and taking back stuff when meals were finished. The meal was really good; I’m comparing this Chalet Suisse to the one near me in Heartland Mississauga.
We were a group of 5
I couldn’t hear the person right across the table from me. And that’s not far.
I couldn’t hear the person right beside me, on my left. Shoulder to shoulder.
3 Sisters. 2 men. I am the only shy one, likely to talk quietly.
Yes. I took out my phone and used the APP.
I checked every single program. None was acceptable. I turned up the volume from the value. Two clicks. Pretty simple test. Hearing aid score is 2-1/2 out of 10.
I stuck index fingers in each ear. The are doing a good job; volume didn’t change.
I had my hearing tested 6 months ago. I have a F/U appointment in several days.

Seriously!? Small world - My parents live in Pembrokeshire (Preseli) and I would love to have a trial, but I don’t want raise my hope based on my hearing loss borderline. I will upload my audiograph and see what do you think….

I’ve posted here for some time, and have come to respect Um_bongo and others who contribute so much to our hearing health & treatment.
Thanks Um_bongo for all you do.

Yes, I’ll fit you with a pair of any of the demos we have in stock. I’ll also waiver the £40 test fee. Put your test in your bio on here and I’ll take a look.

You mean NAL-NL3? I think it will be a slow process of introducing this fitting formula to practice, and I wouldn’t be surprised if many audiologists/ were unaware of it because it’s so new.
However, introductions of new NAL-NL3 did not make obsolete at this moment. After reading, I think the most benefits would be for patients with problems with their current “Comfort in Noise” programs, but it does not suggest improvement compared to the foregoing “Speech in Noise” program. We will see what comes in the next modules after the two just announced.
Could this be a reason why so many of us have problems understanding speech in noisy environments?
I don’t think so. However, it is possible (but with no guarantee) that 5.0 Adult could be better. There is also pediatric version, but I don’t know if you will be comfortable with that.
I stuck index fingers in each ear. The closed domes are doing a good job; volume didn’t change.
I still think you could try earmolds/cShells, because I think audiologists/HIS probably can only amplify a limited range of frequencies due to feedback thresholds and now it’s simply impossible to set more gain in most desired frequencies.
Ask him if he achieved the target range in all frequencies in -based fitting. What is your score?

I will add more detailed images of the titanium otoplasties here. I am currently in the hospital
I hope all was well at the hospital. We are still curious about otoplasties. In the meantime I received mine, but they should be remade - too weak receiver, too large vent, too long wire, too short removal filament ![]()

There is a rough surface, which makes insertion harder, but it seems I have trained my insertion technique (more spiral that straight):

Yeah, that’s a bit of a whopper (and the fact that it’s just one ear with a very substantial loss reduces your options a lot) - you should probably be wearing something UP with that. You’ve got the option to try something from the existing platform UP demo with your existing mould - or try the power speaker version of a , with an eye to getting fitted with a canal mould/.
Possibly we should be having a conversation about a power fitting too.
