Easy tip for DIY tuning

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I have a simple tip for tuning your hearing aid.
Most hearing aids have the option of multiple programs, so to fine tune I copy the “Master” into the available program positions and fine tune those copies, then the next day I test those programs in real conditions to see which will suit better.
An ideal way to test the available features and their minor nuances.

I think the procedure will be similar for other manufacturers

1 step - copy Master

2 step - unlink the gain setings from the Master program

Yeah but this is what the other programs are for, if you click on the gains and microphone settings for each program, you’ll notice the differences, so just copies of the original program (even with additional adjustments) is not ideal for different environments.
Another way is to take your laptop out to the mall /cafe (or somewhere similar,on the bus even) and fine-tune for different environments, another is to set up the and program each ear/side individually.

Thanks for bringing this up. I have been doing something like this. However, I am going to combine some of your suggestions. I think more of us should come to share more, even though some ideas are not viable. We might end up with something good.

Oh yeah this is the beauty of , we do unorthodox things, we don’t follow “best practice” etc, but we know what we can hear and how we like things to sound.
