Rexton Reach Review

I acquired a set of Rexton Reach aids in July 2024. I previously had a single 8 year old Audeo aid in my left ear and my right ear didn’t need an aid. So I have gone from reasonable hearing (one good ear, one assisted) to two bad ears with aids. I think the recent loss of the right ear was from an illness 2 years ago. Costco has been great to buy through and get service. Recharging is fine and I expect to have a in-warranty service in 2.5 years to check the batteries. The sound is a little crunchier than my previous setup, but that is probably due to only having one bad ear before and the other half having natural sound. I have some problems listening to the TV which is remedied by adjusting to just forward sounds in the app. Turning off the TV is also very effective. I think our house is giving me a small echo. The Android app works great, even with my ancient Samsung A51 phone and Android version 13 OS. You can adjust volume on each device, contrary to what the Play Store image showed, easy to adjust to front or all around sources, the noisy room option cuts out unwanted noise well, (Costco is really noisy when you have hearing aids) and the app paired with phone. My left ear canal is small so I got a smaller dome for that ear. They don’t offer a real vented dome, but they just cut a notch in the side of the dome to allow natural sound to the eardrum. I’m thinking of going back to the unvented domes due to some itchiness, possibly from where the domes are cut. Overall I’d give them a 8 or 9, probably biased by now having to wear two devices. It would have been nice to try the new Philips aid for comparison, but that wasn’t in the cards for me and my timing.

Are you able to stream from your phone to your aids or from any of your bluetooth devices?

Thanks for sharing, it’s informative, one thing I’d ask is why are you not using custom molds, this would be a better solution for your level of loss and better fit as well.

Yeah, you won’t have that irritation issue either, with decent sized vents you’ll be fine, plus the bluetooth streaming from the Sammy A51 is another bonus, if you wanted “hands free” calls you’d need to upgrade your phone to use right or is the A51 support Codec?

10/5 Costco does not have the 9.12 update. According to tech. Streaming to pixel 8 is fine. Not like k10, have a pair each ear. No p

My Connexx program updated automatically to 9.12 I would assume Costco’s would update also. I updated my Rextons firmware and now have LE audio but my iphone does not support it

I’m not sure I understand. You got LE audio update without going into Costco? I went yesterday, thinking that I would be able to get the firmware update, and Costco didn’t have it. I would really like it since I have an Android phone and it would make a big difference for me.

It’s available in the latest version of Connexx software, so all Costco had to do was update Connexx, a bit lazy of them.

Yeah I guess they want to be seen to be doing “something” but the firmware update has been passed and released by Signia/Rexton already and has been available for the last month.

Since it’s an hour and a half each way for me to go to Costco, I hope that when the update is available, people will post that information! (Although I must confess that I do enjoy going to Costco regardless!)

It’s available, just ring your local or any other Costco to confirm, as yeah you don’t want to waste your time.

Costco doesn’t have its own unique version, they use the exact same Rexton flavoured Connexx software as everyone else, which has the firmware update, so all they have to do is click on “update Connexx”

Costco software is modified to some extent compared to the general release. The most direct example of this is that the tinnitus options are removed and not accessible even if the provider wanted to modify the settings.

Yeah I’ve heard this before with the ReSound SmartFit as well, however we’ve not seen anything to confirm this tho, but anyways “locked out” of downloading any updates to the software would seem extremely unlikely.

Update and downgrade: Had issues in January of 2025. Aids turned off for no apparent reason. Got a new set. Left one has now died (5/2025) and does not restart when put in the charger which had been my workaround for these aids when they died. The right one died the other night but came back to life after being in the charger for an hour. The phone app says the batteries were at 80% or so. I can not restart from the rocker switch when they die. While the left one is out for replacement, I’m using my old Audeo unit which works great. Good for costco for apparently dropping Rexton Reach. Anyone have similar experiences with Rexton Reaches turning off for no reason and only being able to be restarted in the charger?
