Charlottesville, is my local Costco store. I checked. They are not among the 100 “trial” Costco Hearing Centers that stock the Sennheisers. But, the tech tipped me off that Harrisonburg, VA Costco has them. I called Harrisonburg Costco to check, but they never returned my call. Harrisonburg is a roughly 90-minute drive from Charlottesville. I already have Infinio Spheres, so I’m just sending a FYI.
As a long term Phonak user, I plumped for the KS10 once I knew with confidence it was parallel with the Paradise range and as the house brand, it must be a decent product. I was quietly optimistic the Sonite was the first step to having Phonak quality at Costco prices once more. Now I’m not sure.
It is curious (insane?) that Sonova aren’t positioning the Sennheisers more overtly as being part of their portfolio so people might know what they’re looking at. Are they worried about dulling the lustre of Infinio?
To my mind, Sennheiser are popularly known for quality headphones not hearing aids - so an article in the in-store Costco magazine might be a start in evangelising the captive market. Teeing up some friendly influencer types to circulate broadly positive write-ups might help overcome the less-than-glorious impression the Sennheiser aids made in reviews. Given Sonova appear to have actively courted Costco to get back in store, this seems an odd strategy so far.

This is a possibility for sure.
The KS9 aids were a huge hit for Costco. The KS10’s not so much but still excellent aids. The rechargeable battery issues were a deterrent. I can sure see Costco taking a little thunder away from Phonaks line.
I am curious about these Sonnet aids being Lumity or Infinio. Will this trial of Sennheiser at Costco bring the Infinio aids?
What I got from a local Costco was after 6 months they’d see how the trial went. If it went well, they’d get the “new” Sonova version. What that means? Who knows. I’d guess either Infinio or Infinio Sphere but just a guess.
I ordered the Sennheiser sonites last week. I walked around the store with the demos for about 15 minutes and they were incredible with regard to speech in noise. I could hear my husband very clearly in any direction. To be fair, I am replacing Phonak Brios so this technology is very new to me!
I will definitely let y’all know how they are in real life situations. I’ve worn hearing aids for around 20 years and have only had Phonaks. So my brain is accustomed to their sound. These sounded exactly the same as Phonaks to me.
Here in the Houston area they are currently available at the Humble and Pearland locations. I ordered mine from the Humble location.
I just got a set of Reaches, but I’m having too many issues with phone calls/Bluetooth. The Reaches work brilliantly as hearing aids, particularly in noise, but the Bluetooth not streaming my calls consistently has become the deal killer. I haven’t decided if I’m keeping them. They’re great on weekends when I don’t use the phone.
I just drove to the Winston Salem, NC Costco and ordered a set of Sennheisers. I loved my KS9s. I have to imagine these are everything they were plus a generations improvement. Now I have to wait 5 weeks to get them fitted.
How are you liking the Sennheiser hearing aids? Any feedback from Costco what their response is? (Are customers happy with them? Any issues with charging or returned aids? for example)
I am loving them!! I also got a pair of Jabras because I wanted a backup that took batteries. I love those as well but for different reasons.
The Sennheisers are MUCH better for streaming music. Honestly, I was emotional the first time I streamed music. I wore them while flying today and when using the app I could completely remove ambient noise, hearing only what I was streaming. I also tried them with my Sony noise cancelling headphones. I could hear the entire movie crisp and clear.
I love the Jabras for everything except streaming music. They are limited there. It’s not terrible to me but not near the fullness of the Sennheisers. All in all, I’m happy with both pair. My old hearing aids were ancient technology so these are a massive improvement!
I picked up the Sennheiser set today. They’re exactly what I wanted, an updated KS9 essentially. Fit the same, feel the same, sound the same (but with an up to date program for my hearing).
I couldn’t be happier. My phone works again. Streaming music sounds like headphones. Outstanding.
New programming makes S sounds a little shrill coming from my wife. Talking to the neighbors didn’t do that. Simple adjustment probably. My wife is a loud talker.
Only concern I have is battery life. Should be fine unless I’m traveling, which is rare. I’m pretty reliably a homebody that’s up at 5 a.m. and bed is 9 or 10 p.m. That’s like 17 hours so I should be good.
Today I got up at 5:30. The Sennheiser set was charging all night so we’ll say they were 100% battery. Checked just now before putting them back in the charging case at 9:45 p.m. and they’re at 40% remaining. Not bad.
I didn’t stream much today. 3 minutes on the phone. Was in stores and restaurants all morning. No issues.
