I have connected my UK NHS Engage Oticon (thaks to the help given here) and have been doing a quick trawl through the functions available within Genie. One of the more interesting functions is the ability to do in situ testing.
After running this test on both ears, I find that low frequencies fall up to 35db below the audiometry curve (which has been done several times by different audios so should be confirmed) The curves on both ears converge at about 2Khz
What should I learn from this test? I have semi open bass domes on the thin wire . Should I look for alternative domes or raise the gain of low frequencies? I think I can do a refit using the in situ curve. Fortunately I am playing with my back up aids so can do some experiments if the folks on this forum can guide me.
Thanks, all
tom
