Advice needed for selecting hearing aid for first time user

It’s interesting how a hearing aid that’s been on the market for a year is considered out of date and maybe not so good after being eclipsed by this years releases. Talk about having buyers remorse within 12 months and feeling you got second fiddle with having to now endure a prolonged replacement cycle while everyone else get the latest and greatest.

I got HAs for the first time this year. Like your mom I went to an audiologist first, but they were not on my insurance program so I went to a separate HA retailer. I settled on the Phonak I90 [non-sphere]. Costco was not an option at the time [but they have since opened a store here].

It sounds like you are settled on Costco for a product. One additional piece of advice I got from these posts was to buy the best pair your budget can afford, so don’t make a final decision based upon price alone.

Costco only sell the premium models,they don’t sell crippled or defeatured so on price alone they are a better option for most.

I started with Jabra Enhance in fall 2024 and kept them for 4 months. They were always tinny, distorted to me even after 2 re-tuning. I also had to keep using the app to change programs in noisy situations. I switched to Rexton-Reach and they sound more natural and are totally automatic. No reason to fiddle with the app.
Just my experience from a year ago.
I would try the one then switch after a few months if you don’t like them.
