I hear slight but constantly frustrating distortion in my left ear when using my Signia 7AX hearing aids.
I have tinnitus in both ears (worse in the left) and more learing loss in the left ear.
However, when I stream audio to my hearing aids it sounds really, amazingly good. No distortion.
For example, if I listen to 6Music the voices have distortion. And the vocal frequencies of songs. If I stream the same programme to my hearing aids, however, it sounds fine.
My best guess is that the response curve for the hearing aids is boosting the vocal frequencies too much and making it sound distorted. Either that or the microphones are just no good.
Now, I asked my audiologist to specifically reduce the frequencies around 2.5KHz (which is where it sounded noticably boosted, I gave myself a hearing test). However it still sounds the same as before.
This is why I am considering adjusting my own hearing aids, because nothing my audiologist does, helps.
Can you give any suggestions as to why it sounds distorted using the microphones but not using streaming?
Thank you!
John
