Hey guys!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. Hope you’re all keeping well ![]()
For those of you who don’t know, HARK is a lightweight piece of software for Android that replicates the functionality of table microphones from the likes of Phonak, audifon, Oticon, etc.
The app records audio through the microphone system of the device and relays it back to the connected device, supposedly a hearing aid.
It’s main advantages are:
- Ease of use, featuring a single-click button to activate or deactivate the microphone feature
- The software is brand agnostic, rather relying on the hearing aid to be -compatible to work with the software
- Adds one more tool to your device’s capabilities
- Means you need to keep track of one less device
However, over the past month, I have picked up development and added many new features! One of the first things you will notice is that there is a fresh coat of paint on the software, as it now aligns with the Android Material U design standards. There is a navigation bar, and a new option to connect non-ASHA devices!
Check out the project here on GitHub30.
I would appreciate feedback and suggestions and comments. For suggestions and issues, please open an issue on the GitHub repo, and to give a feedback or testimony or sign up to be part of beta testing crew for the Play Store release, please shoot an email to thivyanstudios@gmail.com.
Please feel free to support my work3. I see no shame in asking for remuneration for my work, so if you enjoy my work, I would appreciate a tip. At the time of writing, this is the way I choose to monetize the product. I will never implement ads, as I see them as a poor representation of what I stand for in clean software development. I have considered a free and pro tier, but since it is not on the Play Store yet, I see no way to implement such a system.
Regardless, I thank you for reading this update. I look forward to reading hearing your excited feedback in my email inbox; this always makes me super happy and helps me know my work is appreciated. My last piece of mail came all the way from the Netherlands so I am happy to see my work reach such a global scale.
Have a great Christmas everyone! ![]()
