I will be getting my Oticon Intent 2’s very soon and I am super excited about . Does anyone know if there are any good AuraCast remote Mics out there like the old roger mics? Any thoughts you guys have are appreciated. Thanks,
I was wondering about this today too. Seeing it's been a few months, I thought I'd revive this thread to see if anyone's found any other good remote mics?
I'm very interested in any replies but hopefully no-one will mind if I sidetrack just a little.
Some years ago a startup in Cambridge England called Audiotelligence tried to crowdfund a table microphone that they named Orsana. The device apparently reduced background noise significantly using "blind source separation" technology. Orsana relied on for communication at a time when the takeup of LE Audio was slow. They also seemed to be trying to partner with hearing aid manufacturers to get the show on the road, but this may have been the worst group to try to partner with (in my opinion).
Anyway, the company folded. tells me the technology was sold to another local company but my recollection is that the technology was reabsorbed by the company from which Audiotelligence was spun out- CEDAR Audio. I had a brief conversation on LinkedIn with someone from CEDAR Audio and that person said that the company was open to future partnerships to develop that technology.
So, here we are in the future with pretty much all hearing aid manufacturers comitting to LE Audio/. We have representatives from manufacturers of Auracast devices contributing here. @Phoebe from Avantree for one. Maybe the time is right?
I'd love to get my hands on a good remote mic to help me communicate with my wife. I'd love to get my hands on a good table mic with voice isolation even more.
I'd be interested in something like the Starkey Table Mic with . Low price, great reliability required, too. ;-) Why settle for only 2 of fast, cheap, and good?
Interesting revival of this thread. I don't have an mic yet, but one thing I'd love to know from anyone who's tried one: how does real-world latency compare when the transmitter sits near the speaker and the listener is several rows back? With the old /Roger systems the near-zero latency was the big selling point, so I'm curious whether 's latency shows up in a lecture setting.
Also for d_Wooluf's table-mic use case: is the main appeal a dedicated mic that pairs directly to the aids, or would using a phone as the mic over Auracast be good enough for one-on-one conversation?
