Very interesting; I got my Omega aids in late December and like them most of the time, except when their performance becomes erratic. It’s not easy to explain, but muting occurs in the left side when running water in a sink and during other continuous activity. Initially, I was able to detect a slight reduction in gain, followed by a restoration to full volume. As time went on, the duration of the muting began to become so excessive that it would last for several minutes. I’m taking them back to my audi on Monday for what I assume will be a warranty repair of replacement. It is really baffling because there have been several occasions when I went back to my old Oticons because the left aid would not resume functioning. The right side is a different issue: it handles noise reduction as expected and the transition is barely noted. However, there is a very annoying scratchiness which is apparent all of the time when watching television and when I have been talking to women who “trigger” the extraneous interference at a certain frequency which I haven’t yet been able to identify. This may be a setting issue if it isn’t a manufacturing defect.
I had my audi activate the “Car” program and it works quite well during highway driving, especially when I listen to podcasts over the car radio. I would be curious to know if anyone else has had similar experiences with any of these foibles. BTW, I have the Omega 24.
